    Westside Pickleball Youth Program

    Ages 8-15. No prior experience required.
  • Westside Youth Program is all about fun and fostering a love for the game. Our goal emphasizes fun, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. We also encourage adults to support youth players with the same positive mindset. Instructor will teach basics and lead drills the first 4 weeks. Coordinators will be available throughout the program to help with rules, line calls, and scoring.

    • No prior pickleball experience necessary
    • Approximately 1:5 adult-to-child ratio
    • Instructions on basic rules, scoring, serving, dinking, and more
    • Practice new skills in fun games
    • Westside provides balls and nets. Loaner paddles are available.

    Beginner Level: No prior pickleball experience necessary. Perfect for kids new to the game! We’ll teach the basics—rules, scoring, serving, dinking, and more—through engaging drills and playful instruction.

    Experienced Skill Level: For experienced players who know the rules and can keep score. Kids will jump into exciting games with rotating partners and opponents. Let the rallies begin!

    • CONSENT AND LIABILITY WAIVER 
    • Consent for Media Use
      I, the undersigned parent/guardian of the participant named above, hereby give my permission for the program organizers to use my child's likeness, image, voice, or written statements in photographs, video recordings, and audio recordings made during the course of the program. These materials may be used for:

      • Promotional materials
      • Social media
      • Websites
      • Other media platforms

      I understand that my child’s participation in photographs and/or recordings is voluntary, and I am not entitled to compensation for the use of these materials.

    • Consent for Emergency Medical Treatment
      In the event of a medical emergency where immediate care is necessary, I, the undersigned, authorize the program staff to seek emergency medical treatment for my child as deemed necessary by medical professionals. This includes, but is not limited to, calling an ambulance, arranging for emergency services, or administering first aid.

      I further understand that any costs incurred as a result of such treatment will be my responsibility.

    • RELEASE OF LIABILITY FOR MINOR PARTICIPANTS

      READ BEFORE SIGNING

      IN CONSIDERATION OF my child/ward being allowed to Name Of Minor Child/Ward participate in any way in the Seattle Metro Pickleball Association related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that:

      The risks of injury and illness (ex: communicable diseases such as MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19) to my child from the activities involved in these programs are significant, including the potential for permanent disability and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce these risks, the risks of serious injury and illness do exist; and,

      1. FOR MYSELF, SPOUSE, AND CHILD, I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES or others, and assume full responsibility for my child’s participation; and,
      2. I willingly agree to comply with the program’s stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If I observe any unusual significant concern in my child’s readiness for participation and/or in the program itself, I will remove my child from the participation and bring such attention of the nearest official immediately; and,
      3. I myself, my spouse, my child, and on behalf of my/our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS Seattle Metro Pickleball Association; its directors, officers, officials, agents, employees, volunteers, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“Releasees”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, ILLNESS, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property incident to my child’s involvement or participation in these programs, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
      4. I, for myself, my spouse, my child, and on behalf of my/our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS all the above Releasees from any and all liabilities incident to my involvement or participation in these programs, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THEIR NEGLIGENCE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
      5. I, the parent/guardian, assert that I have explained to my child/ward: the risks of the activity, his/her responsibilities for adhering to the rules and regulations, and that my child/ward understands this agreement.

      I, FOR MYSELF, MY SPOUSE, AND CHILD/WARD, HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT WE HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.
