  • Staff Conversation

  • It is your responsibility to communicate with the professional staff team in your region about your candidacy. Your staff team has the right to NOT endorse your candidacy at any point, including because you did not inform them. Please know that if a staff member decides not to endorse you, this is not a judgment on who you are as a person or their belief in you—it is only about being a good fit for this experience. You must communicate with your local staff team prior to declaring for Grand or International Board.

Please use the space below for a 3-5 sentence reflection on your discussion with your staff member. By writing in this space, you are confirming that you have had a discussion with this staff member.

Please note that this initial discussion does not replace the formal Staff Endorsement Conversation that you must have using this agenda by Monday, January 12. As a potential leader, it is your responsibility to keep your local staff in the know about your candidacy.

  • If you remain a candidate until International Convention, please indicate which local staff member you would like to be present at elections.
  • Self Evaluation and Time Management Exercise

  • Self Evaluation Survey

This step should help you better assess whether this leadership opportunity is a good fit. This process should also help you further develop your vision for the position that you seek. Should this step prove to be a challenging one, please reflect on what that means for you as you move forward. You must have your self evaluation answers submitted no less than 48 hours prior to your Gaining Perspective call. If it is not received at least 48 hours prior to your call, you will need to schedule another Gaining Perspective Call. If you are caucused for more than one position, you must answer the Self-Evaluation Survey for all of the positions.

Please review the Self-Evaluation Survey, answer the relevant questions, and upload your document as a PDF.

    Time Management Exercise

This exercise will help you evaluate if an I-Board position is right for you during your senior year. Being on I-Board requires a lot of time, as do many other senior year activities, so time management is of the utmost importance. You must have your time management activity submitted no less than 48 hours prior to your Gaining Perspective call. If it is not received at least 48 hours prior to your call, you will need to schedule another Gaining Perspective Call. Please make a copy of this document and upload your completed worksheet as a PDF into the jotform.

Grand Aleph Godol and International N’siah candidates do not need to complete this step.

  • By completing this form, I officially declare myself as a candidate for the position(s) previously selected of the 102nd Grand Board of the Aleph Zadik Aleph or 82nd International Board of the B'nai B'rith Girls.*

I have read the International Election Guide and understand the responsibilities of this Office, and if elected, I pledge to fulfill them to the best of my ability from the day I am elected through the end of my official term. I will strive to always uphold the principles of our Movement, inside and outside of BBYO. I will always uphold BBYO policies as stated in the Code of Conduct.

I realize that serving BBYO in this capacity entails a tremendous time commitment, requires a varied skill set, remaining open to feedback, and embracing a maturing experience. I will remain active within my chapter and region and remain dedicated to its success, recognizing that others will look to my chapter and region as a reflection of my own contributions.

I understand that all Grand and International Board members MUST attend the events listed below, and signing this verifies my availability for these events.

If I am not elected, I will seek out other opportunities to serve the Aleph Zadik Aleph/Bʼnai Bʼrith Girls. I will not allow the experience to frustrate me, but rather, I will learn from it all that I can. I will re-dedicate myself to the service of my chapter, and council/region/country. My commitment to AZA/BBG and its principles will not waiver. I am, beyond any board position I have held, an Aleph/Bʼnai Bʼrith Girl. I am dedicated to the ideals and principles of AZA and BBG, and my upcoming election will not alter this in the least.

If you are found to falsify your parent/guardian signature, you will be removed from the election process. All candidates and future Grand/International Board members are held to the highest level of integrity.

    **Dates are tentative

*Coordinating a Summer Experience is position specific and performance dependent.
