Canine Good Citizen / Basic Obedience Class
This class will conclude with the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test.  During the 6-week class you and your dog will learn basic heeling, turns, sit, down, stay and come!

Owners will attend all sessions with their dogs, handling them on leash throughout the class.

 Instructors
Terry Easter is the instructor for this class. Terry has decades of experience and has led clients from basic obdience all the way to Service Dog level training courses. He has taught in group, individual and online settings. He is a dedicated and knowledgeable trainer that wants to help people and their dogs live harmonious as mutual family members.

Class Requirements

Dogs should be at least 6 months old* and have basic leash and handling skills. Previous obedience training is recommended but not required. Dogs must be comfortable working around people and other dogs. All dogs must be current on required vaccinations.  Proof of vaccines must be emailed to ClarksvilleKennelClub@gmail.com prior to the first night of class.

Class Location, Dates & Times

Classes are held at the Clarksville Kennel Club Training Building - 114 Kraft Street, Bldg. D, Clarksville, TN

This is a 6-week course meeting on Monday nights from 6:45-7:45pm starting on November 2, 2026.

The last night of class, December 7th, will include the Canine Good Citizen test.  The test is included with the class.

If the class shows as "Sold Out" below, please submit your email address to be added to the waitlist and notified of the next class.

All classes provided by the Clarksville Kennel Club are NOT for aggressive dogs.  A dog showing aggression, and/or that is uncontrollable, will be immediately excused for the remainder of the class session for the safety of others.  No refund for remaining classes will be given.

Females in heat CANNOT attend classes for the duration of their cycle. Your registration will be deferred to the next session or you can choose to attend the classes without your dog. There will be no refunds. Please notify your instructor as soon as heat is detected.

*pups joining this class from our S.T.A.R. Puppy class do not have to meet this age requirement.

PAYMENT

Payment is due to complete your registration.  Payment will be made using PayPal.  5% is added to cover fees.
