Step 1 - There are a few prerequisite courses that will need to be completed before applying to the Practical Nursing program. Additionally, there are prerequisites for the RN year that, while not required to apply, we highly encourage taking prior to entering the program.
Active CNA license (class available at UBTech)
The prerequisite courses listed below must be taken at a regionally accredited college or university. Prerequisite courses must be completed with a “B-” grade or higher (“C+” is not acceptable):

Anatomy with lab (BIOL 2320)*
Physiology with lab (BIOL 2420)*
Psychology (PSY 1010) OR Human Dev: Lifespan (HDFS 1500)
*Labs are recommended, but not required for UBTech's Practical Nursing Program. Labs WILL be required if students are interested in completing a BSN after UBTech.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Uintah Basin Technical College also requires official transcripts to be sent from all colleges attended, regardless of credit transfer. If in progress, submit an unofficial transcript of proof enrolled in class.

Step 2 - Take and pass all areas of Uintah Basin Technical College's academic assessment exam for the Practical Nursing program. A minimum of 4-6 weeks before the deadline is recommended. Contact the Student Success Advisor's by visiting the UBTech Admissions Page to schedule an appointment. The assessment test may be taken a maximum of three times within a year. Include a copy of the test resullts with your application.

Step 3 - Complete the Uintah Basin Technical College Practical Nursing program application. Applications must be received by the application deadline; or, if the deadline is on a weekend, the last business day prior. The applicant is responsible to collect and return the materials listed on the Application Checklist sheet as a complete packet.

Step 4 - (Optional) - Depending on number of qualified applicants, an interview may be necessary. If an interview is needed, the following point system will be implemented.
