    West Valley Mavericks Foundation

    REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

    Applications submitted without the required documents will not be considered.

    1. Most recent IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter.

    2. Compiled financial statements for the two most recent fiscal years or the most current Form 990 (all documents must be dated and signed).

    3. Annual report (optional, if available).

    4. Board of Directors list, including each member’s primary business affiliation (existing document is acceptable).

    5. List of corporate and foundation donors from the previous year, including contribution amounts.

    6. Current-year annual operating budget.

    7. Signed letter of support for your project or organization (from a board member, volunteer, local official, or beneficiary).

    8. A signed letter of support for your project or for the organization and this funding request. This could come from a board member, volunteer, local official, or beneficiary of your organization. This is a recommendation or testimony to support your request.

    9. Completed responses to the Section II application questions. Failure to adhere to word limits may result in rejection.

    10. High-resolution organization logo.

  • OUR MISSION:

    The West Valley Mavericks Foundation’s mission is to assist families, children, and others in need, and to improve the quality of life within West Valley communities by supporting Arizona-based organizations. The Foundation also provides annual grant awards, with funding amounts varying each year.

    DEADLINE:

    The 2026 grant application period is open from November 15, 2025, to January 15, 2026. All applications and required attachments must be submitted online. Notifications will be made in the first quarter of 2026. Each charitable organization may submit only one application per year and must reapply in subsequent years for additional funding.

  • SECTION I

  • Eligibility and Guidelines

    To be eligible, a charity must hold current 501(c)(3) non-profit status and be active in Arizona. The West Valley Mavericks Foundation reserves the right to accept or reject any application, as well as to approve or disapprove any funding proposal, including incomplete applications. The Foundation also reserves the right to modify application criteria at any time. Please refer to the list below for funding guidelines. Additional guidelines may apply, and all applications will be evaluated individually.

    Nonprofit organizations seeking a grant greater than $1,000 must have held 501(c)(3) status for more than three years.

  • CRITERIA:

    The West Valley Mavericks Foundation does NOT provide funding to:

    • Individuals
    • Political, labor, or fraternal organizations
    • Advocacy or lobbying activities for issue-related topics
    • Medical or scientific research
    • Endowments, fellowships, or individual scholarships
    • Religious organizations, churches, or programs that are purely denominational
    • Foundations or organizations that are themselves grant-making entities
    • Individual schools and their support organizations (including booster clubs, PTAs/PTOs, athletic teams, bands, performing arts groups, alumni associations, or reunions)
    • Debt reduction campaigns
    • General operating expenses or ongoing support
    • Projects or programs outside Maricopa County, unless they primarily serve Maricopa County residents
    • Organizations that discriminate based on race, color, gender, national origin, marital status, age, disability, or veteran status
