  • Guidelines for application/nomination to the MAI (Mosaic of Autoimmunity) Award 2026

  • We are pleased to open the submission for The Mosaic of Autoimmunity Award. Please answer the following questions to submit your proposal. The deadline for submission is 28st February 2026. If you have any issues with filling the form, please contact us at autoimmunity@kenes.com.
    You can either apply for the Award yourself or nominate somebody with his/her consent regarding the nomination and submission of personal data. The applicant/nominee should be a not yet established scientist (no department head or professor).

     

    Information to the applicant 

    Please note that in accordance with MedTech Europe’s Code of Ethical Business Practice, the award is a restricted research grant to be used for the prospective research project within the field of autoimmunity. The awardee’s research institution will be offered to enter into a written research grant agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific regarding a restricted research grant to support the prospective research project. The research grant agreement is a condition to receive the award. The awardee´s research institution will need to provide Thermo Fisher Scientific with an invoice in order to receive the grant payment. Invoice details will be provided later.

  • Eligibility criteria

     

    • Have completed their terminal degree (MD or PhD) within the past 10 years.
    • Have a passion for research that is focused on autoimmunity diagnostics and methodsfor clinical utility, including diagnosis, prognosis and treatment response.
    • Contribute significantly to the advancement of autoimmunity research through outstanding, creative and independent research.
    • Candidate should submit the abstract for AUTO26 Congress (It can be submitted outside the regular submission period, along with the application.).
       

    Evaluation criteria

    • A motivation (half a page) why you/your nominee should be a candidate for the Award.
    • The prospective research project quality and its expected impact on the scientific and medical field of autoimmunity and how the research will impact the quality of life for patients with autoimmune diseases.
    • Quality and impact of scientific publications (= H index)
    • Is the research in the forefront of international efforts?
    • The level of independence of the research.
