  • Thank you for considering volunteering for this year's Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament in Benton Harbor/St. Joseph on June 27th & 28th.

    Riverview Drive in Benton Harbor will be transformed into 'Mackerville' for a whole weekend and charities like yours will be helping us put together an amazing outdoor tournament for over 200 teams!

    We'd really appreciate your help! Check out the volunteer opportunities below.  Please note that volunteer responsibilities vary in physical activity level and may be categorized as easy, moderate, or very active.

  • Format: (000) 000-0000.
  • Registration & Check-in: Register and check-in teams, hand out team packets/wristbands/t-shirts and player information. Activity level: Easy.
  • Court Setup & Teardown Crew: Set up hoops, nets, boundary lines, number signs, score tables, chairs. Teardown Crew: Take down hoops, clean up, return rented or borrowed equipment. Activity level: Very Active.
  • Score Keeper: Keep official score, manage game timing. Activity level: Easy.
  • Referee: Call fouls and violations. In some “Junior” divisions, the “GusBuster” volunteers maintain law & order. ( Must have basketball experience). Activity level: Moderate.
  • Hospitality/Player Services: Help teams find their courts, direct them to rest areas, hand out water bottles. Stock break area with snacks and drinks. Activity level: Easy.
  • Bracket/Scheduling Support: Maintain brackets, update results, post game times, manage the progress of the games. Activity level: Moderate.
  • Cleanup/Waste Management: Ensure garbage bins are available and emptied, keep the space clean. Activity level: Moderate.
  • Parking Attendants: Guide cars into rows, monitor lot capacity, provide helpful guidance for visitors navigating the event grounds. Activity level: Moderate.
