The AD of the Year Award program was created to honor intercollegiate directors of athletics for their commitment and administrative excellence within a campus and/or college community environment over the course of the last year. The award spans seven divisions (NCAA FBS, FCS, Division I-AAA, II, III, NAIA/Other Four-Year Institutions, and Junior/Community Colleges) and annually recognizes 28 athletics directors (four from each division). Winners will be recognized in conjunction with NACDA's 61st Annual Convention, June 7-10 at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, Nev.
All directors of athletics, provided they meet the identified criteria, are eligible.
In order to be considered, the following items MUST be submitted:
- Nomination form
- Updated one-page biography of the nominated athletics director
- At least one letter of support outlining why the athletics director deserves this award
The deadline for all nominations is Tuesday, January 20.
Please note, the required biography and letter(s) will need to be attached to fields in this form in order to successfully submit the nomination. Accomplishments highlighted in the nomination should have taken place during the 2025 calendar year.
