Welcome to the 3rd Delta Youth Tank Business Pitch Competition application. Please read the Guidelines carefully to ensure your application meets all requirements. Applications are open now and will be due by 11:59 p.m. on January 31st, 2026.
The Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is proud to launch the 3rd Delta Youth Tank Business Pitch Competition for aspiring and existing female student-entrepreneurs. This initiative allows young entrepreneurs to compete for a chance to win monetary awards to promote and implement their business plan. The premise is to identify young, innovative, female entrepreneurs with breakthrough ideas to advance black-owned and woman-owned small businesses.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to participate in the program:
- Must be an African-American female
- Must be in Grades 6-12 and attend a Middle or High school (public, private, or charter) in Duval or Nassau County at the end of the 2025-2026 academic school year
- Or, must be a college student (between the age 18-22) currently enrolled at a college/university in Duval or Nassau County at the end of the 2025/2026 academic school year
- Business cannot be part of a parent company or franchise
*** Event contingent upon meeting the required minimum number of participants. Competition may be modified or conceited if minimum not met.
THE DELTA YOUTH TANK COMPETITION REGISTRATION
Sponsors have been identified for this competition to evaluate Delta Youth Tank competitors and their business plans and presentations. Participants must pitch their business concepts, products and services to a select panel with a chance to win funds to promote and implement their business plan.
ABOUT THE COMPETITION

COMPETITION RULES & REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must adhere to the following rules to maintain eligibility in the program:
- Applicants must fully complete the application, providing all required information by the December 31, 2025 deadline.
- Participants must upload a video recording of their business pitch.
- The video pitch must be at least 90 seconds and cannot exceed 5 minutes.
- Participants must not record or include any other individuals in their video.
- Participants must be respectful and refrain from using any foul or inappropriate language.
- Participants should be dressed professionally (or appropriate for their business idea).
- Participants under the age of 18 will require parental consent.
- Participants under the age of 18 and Parent/Guardian must sign the attached Dependent Acknowledgement Waiver and Media Waiver.
PRIZES
The Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated will recognize competition winners with cash awards funded by participating sponsors including the May Week committee. All monetary awards will be made payable to the winning participants.
JUDGES
The participants will be judged by a mix of entrepreneurs, philanthropists, venture capitalists and financial officers. Judges are asked to evaluate the virtual pitch videos and in-person pitch competition based upon their potential to become a viable venture and will focus on the plan or idea, its potential for value creation, and the likelihood of achieving success based upon the applicant’s business concept and presentation.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
