OWA invites Clubs to bid on Elite events and Championships for the 2027 year.

OWA has been receiving repeated feedback about members' desire for more varied competition sites for the elite meets. For some this is simply the fun of going somewhere different, while for others it is tied more specifically to increased access to this level of competition across different regions, to ensure fair access to the opportunities athletes, TOs and coaches need for their development.

Accordingly, the Board has approved the following adjustment to the bidding process to support diversity in elite competition location and increase accessibility for athletes, referees, and coaches:

• Clubs cannot host more than one elite meet per season, and not the same elite meet as the season prior.
• Clubs may bid on more than one meet; If a club wins more than one elite meet by popular vote, it may choose one among those competitions.
• Additional competitions may be awarded to that club only if there are no other club candidates for that competition.

This bid is for the following events:

Ontario Senior Championships - February 27, 2027

Winterlift - March 27, 2027

Ontario Masters Championships - April 24, 2027

Ontario Youth/Junior Championships - April 10, 2027

Ontario Classic - September 26, 2027

Votes will be placed by OWA membership prior to the AGM. Voting will take place securely through Simply Voting on September 25-26, 2026 and results announced at the AGM.

I understand that OWA will be directly involved in hosting all of the above events, including registration, start lists and Technical schedules, event set up, and recruitment of Officials, and will charge $35/athlete to cover related expenses.
