The Community Arts Council of Vancouver (CACV) invites applications from Vancouver-based artists to apply for Artist-in-Residence and Workshop Facilitator at the McBride Fieldhouse (2049 Waterloo St., Vancouver, BC).
The McBride Fieldhouse is a newly activated community-arts space by CACV in McBride Park, Vancouver. Over the period 2025-2027, we’re offering a free, low-barrier space for artists to engage and activate the site through studio work, exhibitions, public programming and workshops.
The McBride Fieldhouse is located on the unceded, ancestral and traditional shared territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We encourage applicants to consider how their work engages with place, community, and meaningful relations with the land.
CACV is committed to equity, accessibility, and inclusive arts practice. We welcome applications from Indigenous artists, artists of colour, 2SLGBTQI+ artists, low-income artists, artists with disabilities, and those from other under-represented communities.
At this stage, CACV is offering the following opportunities:
- Artists may apply to use the space for a 1–3 month artist residency, during which time they will offer either an artist talk, open studio or a workshop as part of their residency.
- Artists may also apply to use the space for public programming, such as talks or workshops outside of the residency.
Please note:
- Residencies are unpaid, including the artist talk, open studio or workshop conducted as part of the residency.
- Workshops or artist talks held outside of the residency program will be paid.
- CACV compensates artists according to current CARFAC industry rates: https://carfac-raav.ca/
