• Durham School-Based Care and Protection Teams

This effort is being organized by Durham Public School Strong, Durham For All, and other allied community organizers. You can reach out to us at  publicschoolstrongdurham@gmail.com and/or info@durhamforall.org if you have questions.
  • With ICE and CPB targeting Charlotte and now Raleigh, we are building a school-based community response network in Durham. While we don’t have verification of targeting in Durham at this time, we know that fear will be high and that we need to be prepared if Durham does get targeted.

On Wednesday Nov 19 - Friday Nov 21 school welcome teams will gather outside of schools during drop off to:

    • Hold signs, lead chants and songs
    • Collect support request forms from other parents
    • Text/call to invite others to join your crew
    • Be prepared to mobilize safe to school parades if Durham does become targeted

School team captains need to attend a training on Tuesday Nov 18 at 6pm; team members are welcome but note required to attend.

Please fill out this form to let us know you are available to lead or join a team.

    Shift times:

    • Elementary Schools: 7-8am
    • Middle Schools: 7:45-8:30am
    • High Schools: 8:45-9:15am
  • We need one captain per school. School captains will:

    • Commit to being at the school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week
    • Attend training call with all team leads Tuesday night
    • Communicate plans with school leadership
    • Help further grow their school teams with additional recruitment
    • Organize their school teams, communicating when and where to meet
    • Lead teams in singing and welcoming families to school

Note that this does not confirm that you *will* be a captain, we will follow-up to confirm who are captains and who are team members.

  • Should be Empty:
