District 7 Community Fund Pi Scholarship

District 7 Community Fund (D7CF) – PI Scholarship

The PI Scholarship is an initiative of the District 7 Community Fund supporting local students pursuing higher education or career training. Awards will be in the amount of $3,141.59. The scholarship is need-based and intended to assist with tuition, course-related expenses, or educational materials. Between 10-20 students will be selected as recipients each year.
Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

Residency: Must currently reside in Boston’s District 7 or attend a school within the district.
Educational Status: Must be enrolled in a high school currently in 12th grade (public, charter, or private school) with goal of pursuing postsecondary school (associates degree granting program/community college or four year college)
Academic Standing: Must demonstrate good academic standing and provide a recent transcript or progress report.
Financial Need: Must demonstrate financial need through a short personal statement or relevant documentation.
Essay Requirement: Must submit a brief essays responding to the prompts provided in the application.
Recommendation: A letter of support or recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or community member is encouraged (optional).
Conflict of Interest: Family members of D7CF board members or staff are not eligible to apply.
Selection Process

A Scholarship Selection Committee will review all eligible applications using a standardized scoring rubric that evaluates financial need, academic effort, community involvement, and clarity of essay response. Recipients will be notified by mid-February 2026, with awards presented at the District 7 Community Fund Awards Ceremony on March 14, 2026.
