  • Tournament Format & Match Details

  • Tournament Format

    The Worcester African Nations Tournament will feature national teams representing African countries.

    Teams will be placed into groups based on the total number of registered teams.

    Group Stage

    Teams will play a round-robin format within their group.

    Points system:

    Win: 3 points

    Draw: 1 point

    Loss: 0 points

    Advancement

    The top teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage.

    Tie-breakers will be determined in the following order:

    Total points

    Goal difference

    Goals scored

    Head-to-head result

    Penalty shootout or tournament committee decision

    Knockout Stage

    Knockout matches are single-elimination.

    Tied matches in the knockout stage will go directly to penalty kicks (no extra time).

    Final

    Winners of the semifinals will compete in the final match to determine the tournament champion.

    Roster Rules

    Minimum roster size: 11 players

    Maximum roster size: 22 players

    Rosters may be updated up until the day before the tournament.

    Important Notice:

    Cash prize will be paid after the final match.

    Team representative must be present to receive prize and trophy.

    Medals will be awarded immediately after the final.

  • By submitting this form, I certify that all players listed participate at their own risk.

    The Worcester African Nations Tournament (WANT) and African Sports Foundation USA are not responsible for any injuries, damages, or loss of personal property that may occur during the tournament.

    Teams are fully responsible for the conduct of their players, coaches, and supporters both on and off the court/field.

    Any unsportsmanlike behavior, fighting, or misconduct may result in disqualification and removal from the tournament at the discretion of tournament officials
