TES Fest, the nation’s premier kinky summertime hotel event with over 650 attendees, is looking for volunteers to assist us. This year’s event is scheduled for July 2nd – July 5th, 2026, at our favorite hotel in Piscataway, NJ!

📆 Volunteer Application Timeline:
Application Opens: 1/11/2026
Applications are reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis. Early submission is strongly encouraged, as waiting may limit your opportunities.
🌟 Important Information for Volunteers:
- Complete the application below (See our volunteer Roles).
- Please refrain from registering until you receive your approval.
- You will then register for the event using a unique one-time use coupon code.
- You will have the option to purchase rooms in the host hotel at this time.
- Approvals will be prioritized for 16-hour volunteers.
🛍️ Volunteer Compensation Tiers:
- 4 hours = 25% discount on event registration
- 8 hours = 50% discount on event registration
- 16 hours = 100% discount on event registration and access to book a room in the host hotel (subject to availability in the reserved Volunteer Block)
*Required hours can be broken up into multiple shifts.

Responsibilities |
| Dungeon Monitors (DM)/Safety |
Dungeon Monitors (DM) focus on maintaining safety within the play spaces and facilitating enjoyable experiences. Volunteers in this role are expected to know and adhere to the dungeon rules and must attend periodic training sessions before the event. Relevant experience in a similar safety or monitoring role is appreciated and should be indicated during the application. Pre-event and on-site training required. Physical requirements: Must have the ability to move freely through the dungeon space(s). |
| Security |
Security volunteers play a critical role in maintaining order throughout the event. They are responsible for enforcing event rules, monitoring entry points, checking badges, and supporting the Safety and Medical teams as needed. All Security volunteers must attend the required on-site orientation to be fully prepared for their duties. Physical requirements: This role does not require standing; you may be seated during your shift. |
| Floaters |
Floaters and Gophers provide essential support by driving to pick up food and supplies while also assisting various departments as needed. Flexibility to fill in at any department and offer assistance wherever required is a key part of this role. Candidates with a valid driver’s license, their own vehicle, and the ability to navigate local roads safely in compliance with traffic laws, is a plus. |
| Equipment |
The Equipment crew is responsible for physically setting up and breaking down dungeon equipment, requiring volunteers to be able to lift at least 25 pounds and work with tools, including power tools. This role involves working outdoors in potentially hot summer conditions, including setting up the day before the event and breaking down the day after the event. Volunteers may also liaise with the Operations department for equipment support during the event. No crafting skills are necessary for this position. |
| Programming/Special Events |
Programming and Special Events volunteers bring enthusiasm and creativity as they facilitate classes and special activities. Duties may range from hosting speed dating and greeting attendees to preparing materials such as water balloons and safer-sex supplies. Volunteers will also support event presenters by managing supplies and helping with room capacity counts. A friendly, outgoing attitude is essential. Physical requirements: The ability to navigate the event space (with or without the use of a mobility aid). |
| Customer Service |
Customer Service is essential for creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring a smooth experience for attendees. They greet guests, distribute badges and wristbands, register new attendees, answer questions, and maintain a basic understanding of the event layout and general information. This role suits individuals who enjoy helping others and have a friendly, approachable demeanor. |
| IRT |
The TES Fest Incident Response Team (IRT) is dedicated to facilitating peaceful resolutions to any conflicts, boundary violations, or consent issues that arise during the event. Team members employ nonviolent dispute resolution techniques to provide supportive and fair assessments, aiming to negotiate resolutions whenever possible. Relevant experience in conflict resolution or mediation is required, and applicants will be asked about their experience during the selection process. Pre-event training is required.
