  • Background Check Agreement

  • Thank you for your interest in participating in the programs offered by Friends On Hill. We are grateful for your desire to engage with our mission and contribute to the community we serve. As part of our commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and trustworthy environment for everyone involved, we require all participants to undergo a standard background check before joining our programs.

This policy is in place to help ensure the well-being of vulnerable individuals we serve.  It also protects our staff, volunteers, and fellow participants. Conducting background checks helps us uphold the integrity of our organization and maintain compliance with insurance policies, legal standards, and best practices in nonprofit governance.

Please know that the background check process is handled with the utmost confidentiality and respect for your privacy. It is not intended to exclude individuals unfairly, but rather to identify circumstances that may pose a risk within the context of our work. If concerns arise, we are happy to discuss them with you directly and fairly.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this important step. Your willingness to engage in this process reflects a shared commitment to the safety and success of our mission.
