  • The Scholarships

  • All applicants for the following scholarships must be graduating high school seniors located in either Harris County or Waller County. Review each scholarship below to determine which ones you qualify for, and then make your selections.

    CY-FAIR FCU (CFFCU) & PRAIRIE VIEW FCU (PVFCU) SCHOLARSHIPS

    Cy-Fair FCU Community Scholarship (1 recipient to receive $1,500):
    Open to any graduating high school senior in Harris County or Waller County. While community involvement is not a requirement to be considered for the Community Scholarship, 1 of these 3 community scholarships may be awarded as the "Community Quill" Scholarship, a special honor to the applicant who best exemplifies 'writing good' into their community through their positive impact in school, local, or religious organizations.

    Cy-Fair FCU & Prairie View FCU Member Scholarship (1 recipient to receive $1,500):
    Eligibility requires membership with either CFFCU or PVFCU, or if the applicant has a family member (parent, sibling, grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc.) with a verifiable account at either credit union. The member number will be needed for verification.

    Bilingual Spanish Scholarship (1 recipient to receive $1,500):
    Applicants must be bilingual (Spanish & English) and either enrolled in or have completed the ESL or NAC program. Applicants must also submit their essay in both English and Spanish.

    Lone Star College Scholarship -- in memory of Pattie R. Miller (1 recipient receives $3,500):
    Applicants must plan to attend Lone Star College. Scholarship funds will not be awarded if the recipient does not attend Lone Star College. The scholarship is estimated to cover tuition, books, and lab fees for one full year at LSC. However, these funds are not guaranteed to cover all expenses. Any additional costs will be the responsibility of the applicant, not Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union.

    Prairie View A&M University Scholarship (1 recipient receives $1,500):
    Applicants must plan to attend Prairie View A&M University. Scholarship funds will not be awarded if the recipient does not attend PVAMU.

    THE KIMBERLY A. DICKEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

    The Kimberly A. Dickey Memorial Scholarship (1 recipient to receive $1,500):
    Open to applicants planning to attend college for a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, a Bachelor's in a Healthcare field of study, or a college certificate program in Healthcare. The Kimberly A. Dickey Memorial Scholarship is funded by her family.

    THE PARTIN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

    Bob Partin Integrity Scholarship (1 recipient to receive $1,000):
    Eligibility requires applicants to include in their essay how they exhibit honor and integrity.

    Paulette Partin Entrepreneurial Spirit Scholarship (1 female recipient to receive $1,000):
    Eligibility requires the applicant to be a female with an entrepreneurial spirit.

    Deputy Darren Goforth Memorial Scholarship (1 recipient to receive $1,000):
    Eligibility requires applicants to include in their essay a major challenge (adversity) they experienced and overcame in their life.

    Harris County Pct 5 Cpl. Charles "Chuck" Galloway Memorial Scholarship (1 recipient to receive $1,000): 
    Eligibility requires applicants to include in their essay in what way they have demonstrated selflessness.

     

    Select the Scholarships for which you would like to be considered:

  • Two Letters of Recommendation for Partin Foundation Scholarships

    To be considered for any of the Partin Foundation Scholarships, you must submit two letters of recommendation.

    If you do not have these letters at this time, you have two options:

    1. Deselect and Apply for Those Later (recommended option): Go back to the Scholarship Options and deselect the Partin Foundation Scholarships. Complete the application for other scholarships. Once you have obtained your letters of recommendation, create a new application specifically for the Partin Foundation Scholarships.

    2. Save and Return Later: Save your progress at the end before submitting the application. Once you have obtained your letters of recommendation, return to this section of your saved application, upload the letters, and then proceed to submit your application.

  • Essay

  • For any scholarship you are applying for:

    In 500 words or less, write a grammatically correct essay that provides background information about why we should consider you for one of our scholarships. Please include why you are seeking a scholarship, any special circumstances that may help to qualify you for student aid, and what your career/educational/life goals are.

  • If applying for:

    - Bob Partin Integrity Scholarship = Please also include what honor and integrity means to you and how these traits have defined your life choices and actions.

    - Paulette Partin Entrepreneurial Spirit Scholarship = Please also include what the 'Entrepreneurial Spirit' is, what it means to you, and how you have demonstrated such a spirit in your life.

    - Deputy Darren GoForth Memorial Scholarship = Please also include how you demonstrated integrity and courage during that time, what was the outcome and how this challenge made you a better person.

    - Corporal Charles "Chuck" Galloway Memorial Scholarship = Please also include what is "selflessness" to you, how have you personally observed selflessness in action, and in what way have you demonstrated willingness to put others before yourself.

    If you have your most recent school transcript, you may attach the digital file, a scanned copy, or picture of the transcript below.

    IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR COPY:
    If you don't have your most recent school transcript ready to upload, you can either save your progress and complete the application later, or finish the application now and submit your transcript separately before the deadline. Refer to the Scholarship webpage for methods to submit your transcript.

    Note:
    When you save your application, you will receive an email with a link to return to it.
