Call for SSAAM Hat Show models!
The Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum is seeking volunteers across age and gender to participate in a hat show at the Historic Hunterdon County Courthouse in Flemington, NJ (71 Main St. Bldg. 3) on January 24th, 2026 from 3PM-5PM. The hat show will launch the opening of SSAAM's traveling exhibition "The Head That Wears The Crown: Black Women's Headwear from Slavery to Freedom." This exhibit explores the past, present, and future of African American women’s headwear within the Black church and beyond. All forms of headwear are welcome (church hats, durags, turbans, hijabs, etc.) MINORS MUST HAVE A PARENT OR GUARDIAN COMPLETE THIS FORM WITH THEM.

I understand and agree that, where applicable, these photograph(s), video(s) and/or other material(s) will become the property of the County of Somerset and will not be returned. I hereby irrevocably authorize the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish or distribute any photograph(s), video(s) or other material (s) for purposes of publicizing the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum or for any other lawful purpose. In addition, I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product, including written or electronic copy, wherein my likeness appears. I further waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of said photograph(s), video(s) or other material(s). I further waive any right to be notified that said photograph(s), video(s) or other material(s) will be published or otherwise utilized. I hereby hold harmless and release and forever discharge Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors and administrator or other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.
