  • 2026 TANGO2 Family Conference

    Travel Stipend Request Form
  • This stipend may be used to offset conference registration and travel-related expenses associated exclusively with the 2026 T2RF Family Conference.

This program is need-based, with priority given to families and other participants demonstrating the greatest financial need. Applications will be reviewed by a committee composed of both professional stakeholders and TDD family representatives involved in conference planning.

Applicants must provide documentation of conference registration, estimated travel expenses, and any additional financial support anticipated from sources outside the TANGO2 Research Foundation. While travel stipends are intended to reduce financial burden, they may not cover all travel expenses. Additionally, please note that submission of a travel stipend application does not guarantee an award, as stipends are limited and need-based.

If a stipend recipient is unable to attend the 2026 T2RF Family Conference, the award will be forfeited and offered to the next eligible applicant.

  • Aspects of a Strong Application

  • To ensure a thorough application, we ask for thoughtful answers that demonstrate the following:

    1. Provide a brief rationale for your desire to attend the 2026 T2RF Family Conference and your request for financial assistance. Outline the specific sessions that you are eagerly anticipating, mention individuals you intend to meet, and articulate your strategy for optimizing the conference experience. (View the agenda here.)

    2. A specific, well-researched budget: Research and include what flights, transportation and/or other travel will cost and/or conference registration fees. Include precise numbers in USD (not price ranges).
Note: Applicants will need to use the most economical travel options (economy flights, regular Uber/Lyft, economy train), and mileage will be reimbursed up to and at the GSA rate found on gsa.gov.

    3. Complete and accurate information: Make sure your travel dates and budget are accurate and that you have included any requested website links. Applications with inconsistent or missing information will not be approved.

  • Application Deadline Requirements

  • By submitting this form, you are applying for a need-based conference stipend to attend the 2026 TANGO2 Family Conference in Orlando, Florida.

Applications will be accepted from any family member/caregiver of a TDD affected individual, healthcare professionals and/or researchers interested in attending the conference. Applicants must supply ALL requested information in this form.

Applications MUST be received no later than March 6, 2026 5PM (EST). Initial awardees will be notified by March 23, 2026.

Should an applicant accept the stipend award they should promptly follow provided instructions for 2026 TANGO2 Family Conference registration, hotel booking, and send confirmation to grants@tango2research.org within one week of stipend notification. If the requested information is not received during the one week time frame, the awardee will forfeit the right to a stipend for this year, and the stipend will be given to the next person on the stipend list. Adherence to this timeline is necessary so that awardees and alternates can plan and book flights at the best pricing possible.

If an applicant chooses not to accept the stipend award, they are required to notify the TANGO2 Research Foundation's Conference Planning Committee at grants@tango2research.org within one week of receiving the stipend notification.

Please note stipend awards may be used ONLY to support 2026 TANGO2 Family Conference attendance. Applicants are required to actively attend and engage in all sessions, maximizing their conference experience. (View the agenda here.) Failure to participate in the conference will lead to the withdrawal of the travel stipend.

Stipend awards will be paid directly to the Recipient within 30 days after the approval of the application and proposed travel expense budget.

The report should include ALL itemized receipts and justifications for expenses covered by the stipend, demonstrating the recipient's efforts to minimize costs within reason.
