January's Theme is "Narrative Threads"
We would love to have a narrative on each peice or the body of work. If it is inputted here it will save us some time. Below are some ideas if you are not sure what you would write.
When you describe a narrative for artwork, think of it as explaining the story behind the piece — not necessarily a literal plot, but the meaning, emotions, themes, or inspiration that shaped it. Here’s an easy way to frame it:
1. Start with the Inspiration
Explain what sparked the piece.
2. Describe the Main Idea or Theme
State clearly what the work is about at its core:
3. Connect to the Visual Elements
Help people understand how the art expresses the story:
4. Share What You Want the Viewer to Feel or Think
This invites the audience in without telling them how to interpret the piece:
5. Keep It Short but Impactful
A good narrative is usually just a short paragraph or 3–5 sentences. Enough to guide, not overwhelm.
