  • Welcome

  • Welcome to Rowing South Australia (Rowing SA) — your time and energy as a volunteer help make rowing in our state possible. We’re committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and rewarding experience for every volunteer.

Rowing SA values and respects the contribution of all our volunteers in whatever capacity they may fulfill. We realise that the work they do is essential to the functioning of rowing as a sport in SA.

The aim of these guidelines is to ensure that the work of our volunteers is recognised by our members, and that our volunteers in turn feel appreciated for their work.

We do need to collect certain pieces of information for our governance and compliance requirements.  We appreciate, that as a volunteer this can feel burdensome and we thank you for your patience with these important processes.

    1. For insurance purposes, we will create a profile in Rowing Manager (RM). A new or returning member will generate a welcome email and membership waiver - both of which will be emailed to your nominated email address. You will need to accept this to become active.  Volunteer membership is free.
    2. WWCC - these are compulsory for anyone volunteering with a club or association.  We then need to "register your details" in the Department of Human Services (DHS)  portal which means we need your Full name (as per your drivers licence/passport) and your DHS issued SRN number.  This would have been emailed to you after your WWCC was processed.
    3. We do need your WWCC prior to being able to commence volunteering with Rowing SA

  • Thank you for taking the time to complete this Become a BRO Form.

To deliver a safe and successful rowing season, we require around 36 trained volunteers across our officiating and event support roles.  At present, we are well below this number.

We are working hard to begin training as soon as possible - we also need experienced volunteers to act as mentors to complete training new officials as they start their BRO journey.

We want to build a strong, well-supported volunteer team for successful regatta seasons.

If you have any questions about your role, responsibilities, or anything else please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Rowing SA office.
