  • Smart Irrigation Rebate Confirmation Number Request

  • Guidelines

    • The residential property must be a Toho Water Authority (Toho) customer (i.e., the water bill is paid directly to Toho, not a city or private utility).
    • At the time of the upgrade, the residential property must have an operational in-ground irrigation system that receives Toho irrigation or reclaimed service. Irrigation systems using wells, lakes, and ponds are not eligible.
    • The replacement controller must be a new, stand-alone EPA WaterSense-labeled controller. Plug-ins or add-ons must be EPA WaterSense-labeled when upgrading a current controller. See the EPA WaterSense product list below.
    • Only one (1) rebate per single-family residence (including occupied homes, condos and mobile homes).
    • Additional irrigation system upgrades do not qualify for this rebate.
    • The new smart controller, add-on or plug-in must be installed and documented with photos before submitting the application (no exceptions).
    • Toho staff will determine if the new controller, add-on or plug-in meets program requirements.
    • Toho reserves the right to deny rebates for failure to meet program requirements.
    • Toho does not guarantee product performance or installation quality.
    • Participants are responsible for purchasing and installing the irrigation controller, add-on or plug-in.

    First: Request a confirmation number

Participants must first request a confirmation number. A confirmation number will ensure reservation of funds but does not guarantee rebate. If you qualify, a confirmation number will be emailed to you along with the rebate application link where you'll be able to upload receipts and photos.

    Second: Submit for your receipts

Once you receive your confirmation number, you will have 30 days to complete the rebate application.

Using the rebate application link you’ll upload the following:

    • Receipt/invoice must show brand, model number and/or SKU. Purchase dates on receipt/invoice must be no older than October 1, 2024.
    • A clear picture of the installed controller, add-on or plug-in.

The rebate will appear as a credit on your water bill. If you are not a Toho customer but have upgraded the controllers for residential properties you own that receive Toho irrigation services, a check for the rebate will be mailed to you.

  • The residential property does not meet the program’s requirements and is not eligible for the rebate.

  • Terms and Conditions

Toho Water Authority (Toho) may deny any application that does not meet all the program guidelines.

Toho reserves the right to alter this program or program funding at any time. Rebates shall be made on a first-come, first-served basis as long as program funding exists. No person making any application for a rebate shall be guaranteed or entitled to receive a rebate.

The program applicant agrees to allow Toho to inspect all installed fixtures as a condition for obtaining a rebate.

Toho does not endorse, recommend, warrant or guarantee any fixture and is not responsible for the quality of the items purchased. Toho does not represent that any particular fixture is suitable for installation at a given location and disclaims all warranties of suitability or fitness for any purpose.

Toho does not warrant or guarantee lower water bills as a result of participating in the program.

Toho is not responsible for any damage that may occur to applicants’ property as a result of removing the old fixture or installing the new fixture under this program.

The program applicant agrees to hold harmless Toho, its directors, officers, and employees from and against all loss, damage, expense and liability resulting from or otherwise relating to the purchase, installation, use, or removal of a fixture.
