Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is an organization dedicated to aiding in the education of talented youth throughout our community.
The Crimson & Cream Community Impact Scholarship recognizes students who exemplify outstanding leadership, service, and dedication to improving their communities. Rooted in values of scholarship, public service, integrity, and brotherhood/sisterhood, this award honors individuals who create meaningful,
measurable impact through volunteerism, advocacy, mentorship, or local initiatives.
This scholarship seeks applicants who not only serve but lead—those who identify community needs, collaborate with others, and work with persistence and passion to uplift underserved populations. Recipients of the Crimson & Cream Community Impact Scholarship demonstrate a deep commitment to academic excellence, civic engagement, and sustained community involvement.
Requirements for the scholarship, application, and media waiver are included below.

COMMUNITY IMPACT SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
● Must be an African-American female or male.
● Must have a minimum unweighted G.P.A. of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
● Must graduate from a Duval, St. Johns, and Nassau County (public, private, or charter) high school at the end of the 2025-2026 academic school year.
● Must have completed at least 50 documented hours of community service within the last 12 months or show significant leadership in a community-based project or organization.
● Must attend an accredited institution of higher education after graduation.
● Must provide an official high school transcript (should include ACT and/or SAT scores).
● Must submit one (1) typed letter of recommendation:
o One (1) letter must be from a community leader, teacher, counselor, or supervisor familiar with the applicant’s service work.
o Must be on the appropriate organization’s letterhead and include a signature—either handwritten, electronic, or typed name with date
● Must submit typed, double-spaced documents using 12-point Times New Roman font. The essays should include a detailed description of the following points to substantiate your request:
o Service Essay: Share one specific example of how your efforts in the community, school, or service-based organization mentioned above positively impacted those it served, including your role, responsibilities, and the total amount of service hours completed. (300–500 words)
o Impact Essay: How do you plan to continue making an impact in your community or career?
(250–350 words)
o Optional: Attach supporting documentation (photos, event flyers, project summaries, etc.)
● Student and parent/guardian must complete and sign the scholarship application no later than
February 14, 2026.
● Student and parent/guardian must sign the attached Dependent Acknowledgement Waiver and Media Waiver.
