Lit & Libations 2026

Join KC Book Beat for an immersive literary experience at the Museum at Prairiefire on Saturday, November 21, 2026.

Lit & Libations brings together independent authors, bookish businesses, artists, makers, and readers for an evening inspired by stories, time travel, and a little historical mischief.

We are initially accepting applications for 30 curated vendor and author spaces. Each participant will receive a 6×6 indoor space.

Paid KC Book Beat members: $140
Free members and nonmembers: $190
Paid members save $50 on their space. KC Book Beat paid memberships begin at $5 per month.

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. Participation is confirmed only after written acceptance and full payment, and all table fees are nonrefundable. If an accepted participant cannot attend, they must notify KC Book Beat in writing before the event; KC Book Beat may, at its discretion, approve a nontransferable credit toward a future KC Book Beat event. No-shows and cancellations without advance written notice receive no refund or credit. If KC Book Beat cancels the event, payments will be credited toward another KC Book Beat event. KC Book Beat may make reasonable changes to the schedule, layout, programming, or assigned space. Participants must stay within their assigned 6x6 space, keep aisles and exits clear, follow Museum at Prairiefire and KC Book Beat rules, and obtain any licenses, permits, insurance, or sales-tax documentation required for their products. Participants are responsible for their own merchandise, displays, equipment, transactions, property, and conduct, and KC Book Beat and the venue are not responsible for loss, theft, damage, injury, or participant sales. Participants are responsible for damage caused by themselves, their staff, guests, products, or displays. Only approved products may be sold, and no final product created solely by artificial intelligence is permitted. KC Book Beat may photograph or record the event and use general event images for nonprofit promotional purposes.
