Cozy Fest is a Jane Austen inspired, alcohol-free event held at the Historic Alexander Majors Barn. This event will feature 30+ local authors and vendors, including tea and cozy refreshments, as well as a food truck! 

All booth fees are non-refundable. CozyFest is scheduled to take place rain or shine. Weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, storms, or other circumstances outside KC Book Beat’s control, do not automatically qualify a participant for a refund or credit. Outdoor participants are responsible for providing and safely securing their own tent, coverings, weights, and weather protection. If an accepted author or vendor cannot attend, they must notify KC Book Beat before the event. At KC Book Beat’s discretion, the amount paid may be applied as a credit toward a future KC Book Beat event. No refund or credit will be issued for failure to attend without prior notice. If KC Book Beat cancels the entire event, amounts paid will be applied to a credit toward another KC Book Beat event.

Submitting this application does not guarantee acceptance, participation, or an indoor booth. Participation is confirmed only after the applicant receives an acceptance notice from KC Book Beat and completes payment by the stated deadline. Booth placement and indoor/outdoor assignments are determined by KC Book Beat based on availability, event needs, and application order.

Setup is available from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on September 19, 2026. All booths must be completely set up and ready when the event opens at 1:00 PM. Participants must keep their booths staffed and operational through the event’s scheduled closing time of 7:00 PM. Early teardown is not permitted without approval from KC Book Beat. All participants must remove their merchandise, equipment, and trash from the venue by 8:00 PM.

Each participating author or vendor is responsible for processing their own sales, collecting and remitting applicable sales tax, maintaining any required licenses or permits, issuing receipts, and handling customer refunds, returns, or payment disputes. KC Book Beat does not process or guarantee individual participant sales and is not responsible for sales transactions between participants and customers.

Booth spaces may not be shared, transferred, subleased, or resold without prior written approval from KC Book Beat. Participants may sell only the products and product categories described and approved through this application. KC Book Beat may require the removal of unapproved, unsafe, illegal, infringing, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate merchandise or displays.

Participants are responsible for their merchandise, displays, equipment, personal property, employees, assistants, and guests. KC Book Beat and the event venue are not responsible for lost, stolen, missing, or damaged property. Participants are responsible for injuries or property damage caused by their merchandise, equipment, displays, tents, actions, employees, assistants, or guests. Outdoor participants must provide and properly secure their own tent, weights, coverings, and weather protection.

By participating, the applicant gives KC Book Beat permission to photograph, film, or otherwise record the applicant, their booth, and their products during CozyFest and to use that content for KC Book Beat’s event coverage, publicity, marketing, fundraising, and future promotion without additional payment.
