Kaitlin Lindsay Johnston (Ilya Wolf)
June 23rd, 1976 - August 7th, 2025
This scholarship fund honors the memory of our sister and friend, Kaitlin Ilya Wolf (her chosen spiritual name). Kaitlin grew up in the Midwest but spent two decades living in community at Earthaven Ecovillage in North Carolina, where she held space for many rituals—from births and weddings to seasonal celebrations and death.
She often returned to the Midwest to visit family and to support the Midwest Women’s Herbal Conference. Kaitlin lived a life filled with empathy, spiritual wisdom, and service to others. As a Priestess of Cycles, she had a rare gift for guiding people through life’s transitions with song, sacred ceremony, and space for grief, celebration, and healing. Her steady, radiant presence brought calm and compassion to countless people during life’s most difficult and meaningful moments.
For several years, she shared her gifts with women attending the Midwest Women’s Herbal Events, both virtually and in person. Kaitlin passed away too soon from what is often called the silent killer: ovarian cancer. Though she has left this realm, her spirit endures, and we hope this scholarship is one way it lives on. Created in collaboration with her family, the scholarship supports a woman interested in walking the priestess path—someone passionate about women’s spiritual work and committed to pursuing personal growth and a spiritual journey.
