Restraining Orders: Beyond the Basics Session 1

Sessions in the Beyond the Basics Series are on Tuesdays + Thursdays, February 3-19, 2026
Each session listed below is from 1:00–1:45pm, followed by Q & A until 2pm. There is a separate registration for each topic.
This six-part Restraining Order Series delivers interactive, virtual training that takes an in-depth look at each topic using an advocacy-focused lens. End Abuse’s Legal Services Team developed these trainings based on advocates’ most common questions.
Cost: Free for End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin Program Members and Programs Funded by the WI Department of Children & Families or DOJ Office of Crime Victim Services/$50 per session for all others.
Session Schedule:
- February 3: Take a deeper dive into Domestic Abuse & Harassment restraining orders
- February 5: Take a deeper dive into Child Abuse restraining orders
- February 10: Take a deeper dive into Individual at Risk restraining orders
- February 12: Understand personal service & service by publication
- February 17: Intersections – learn how other court orders (e.g., family law, criminal, and out-of-state) intersect with restraining orders
- February 19: Participate in small group discussions on complicated situations
Level: Experienced – designed for advocates who have basic knowledge of and experience assisting victims to obtain restraining orders. Previous participation in Restraining Order Basics Training and completion of Restraining Order E-modules is recommended but not required.
