Fylde residents are now without a single public swimming pool.
Kirkham Baths has been closed since December 2021 with no construction start date and no reopening date. St Annes closed in March 2026 for works expected to take 8 to 12 weeks and remains shut with no confirmed date.
Swimming isn't a luxury. It's where children learn a life-saving skill, where older residents stay active, and where families can do something affordable together. For years residents have been promised investment and improvements. Today there isn't a single public pool open anywhere in Fylde.
We're calling on Fylde Council to publish clear, realistic reopening dates for both pools, provide regular public updates on progress, and commit to ensuring Fylde is never again left without public swimming provision.
Residents deserve open swimming pools, not more promises.
