    1. USRowing Membership
      • Log in to USRowing. Make sure your rower's membership is current and connected to BIR. Use club code KRCBC.
      • If you plan to race, sign up for a Championship membership. Select a Basic membership if you do not plan to race.
      • You will need your membership number and expiration date. 
    2. Complete this Jotform to be added to the 2026 Adult Team. Expect to receive a welcome email from iCrew detailing the member dues, rowing fees options, and required documents that need your attention before you're cleared to row. 
    3. Once you've settled up your iCrew to-do list, you will be free to toggle in to rowing sessions.

  • Did you know that BIR has a guest rower program?

    This is a great way to take a friend out for a test drive before they commit to becoming a member. It's also a flexible fitness option for rowers visiting from out of town. 

    Guests can row with BIR for up to 3 times over two weeks in a given year before they are required to obtain a USRowing Membership or pay BIR member fees.

    Consent and Release from Liability


    IN CONSIDERATION of being given the opportunity to participate in any Bainbridge Island Rowing (hereinafter “BIR”) activities (“Activity or Activities”) I, for myself, my personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin: 

    I ACKNOWLEDGE, agree, and represent that I understand the nature of rowing activities, both on water and land based; that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such Activity; and that I am a qualified and competent swimmer. 

    I FULLY UNDERSTAND that: (a) ROWING ACTIVITIES INVOLVE INHERENT RISKS AND DANGERS of communicable disease(s), serious bodily injury, including permanent disability, paralysis, and death; and property damage ("Risks); (b) these Risks and dangers may be caused by my own actions, or inactions, the actions or inactions of others participating in the Activity, the condition in which the Activity takes place, or the negligence of the Releasees named below; (c) by entering the premises and participating in rowing-related and sponsored activities that there are risks to me and to those with whom I interact of exposure, directly or indirectly, to communicable disease(s) including but not limited to the virus “severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2)”, “COVID-19”, and/or any mutation or variation thereof; (d) there may be other risks and social and economic losses either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I FULLY ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSSES, COSTS, AND DAMAGES I incur as a result of my participation in BIR Activities. 

    I AGREE AND WARRANT that I will examine and inspect each Activity in which I take part as a member of BIR and that if I observe any condition, which I consider to be unacceptably hazardous or dangerous, I will notify the proper authority in charge of the Activity and will refuse to take part in the Activity until the condition has been corrected to my satisfaction. 

    I AFFIRM I will comply with the BIR policies as they relate to communicable diseases.

    I HEREBY RELEASE, discharge, and covenant not to sue BIR, its officers, directors, members, volunteers, employees, and agents (hereinafter “Releasees”) from all liability, claims, demands, losses, or damages of any kind or nature which may arise out of, result from, or relate in any way to my participation in BIR Activities, including claims caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise, whether on the water or off, including negligent rescue operations. 

    I further agree that if, despite this release and waiver of liability, assumption of risk, and indemnity agreement, I, or anyone on my behalf, makes a claim against any of the Releasees, I WILL INDEMNIFY, SAVE, AND HOLD HARMLESS each of the Releasees from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damage, or cost which any may occur as a result of such claim, to the fullest extent permitted by law. 

    By my electronic signature, I warrant that: (1) I have read this agreement and fully understand its terms and the fact that I will be giving up substantial rights; (2) I have signed this agreement freely and without inducement or assurances of any nature; (3) I intend for this to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law; (4) that if any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect; and (5) I understand that the terms of this release are unlimited in duration and cover any and all BIR Activities that I participate in now and at any time in the future.

  • Code of Conduct

    Bainbridge Island Rowing (BIR) is an inclusive and welcoming place. As a member of BIR, I understand that my behavior and conduct is a reflection of BIR. I understand it is a privilege and not a right to be a part of the team.

    BIR has adopted both the US Rowing SafeSport Policy as well as its own SafeSport policy in accordance with guidance from the US Center for SafeSport.  

    • I will show respect at all times towards those within the BIR community (teammates, coaches, coxswains, staff, parents, chaperones, volunteers), the boathouse, and equipment. See BIR Member Expectations 
    • I understand that misconduct will not be tolerated. I will not bully, harass, or abuse (sexually, physically, verbally, or emotionally) anyone, in accordance with all laws and SafeSport policy. This includes derogatory comments or gestures.
    • I understand that I also represent BIR in my online interactions and that all SafeSport rules around bullying and harassment also apply in that domain.
    • I will refrain from all illegal activities including but not limited to underage drinking and drugs at BIR sponsored activities.
    • I understand that any items construed as weapons are strictly prohibited at BIR sponsored activities.
    • I will complete the annual SafeSport training required by USRowing and BIR.

    I understand that this list is not exhaustive and that any incidents will be handled on a case-by-case basis to determine the appropriate course of action.

    Corrective actions (actions may vary depending on severity of incident)

    • Verbal warning documented and sent to safesport@bainbridgerowing.org.
    • Meeting with the member, parents/guardians if applicable, Coach, and SafeSport Coordinator. The goal of this meeting is to share perspectives, determine consequences, and establish accountability. Member may be suspended from all rowing and member privileges during this process.
    • Member privileges may be terminated for the remainder of the season; fees will be forfeited. The way forward will be determined by the Coach, Head Coach, member and parents/guardians if applicable.

    Reporting/Grievance Procedures

    1. Report incidents of alleged child abuse or child sexual abuse to local law enforcement (9-1-1), US SafeSport, and the BIR SafeSport Incident Report. 
    2. Report incidents of alleged sexual misconduct to US SafeSport and the BIR SafeSport Incident Report. 
    3. Report incidents of alleged non-sexual misconduct to the BIR SafeSport Incident Report.

    By signing below, I agree to this CODE of CONDUCT and understand that failing to comply will result in disciplinary actions as outlined above.

  • SafeSport Training

    • All Adult rowers should self-attest YES that they do have regular contact with minor athletes under 18. 
    • All Adult rowers are required to take an initial 90-min SafeSport Trained Core course.
    • A 30-min "refresher" course is required in subsequent years to stay current.

    Log in to your USRowing profile and click on the SafeSport icon on the lower left menu. Locate the "Core" course to get started. Your SafeSport status will be synced to your iCrew profile. Past due SafeSport training will result in an iCrew block.
