The North Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance (NCDSA) is proud to celebrate individuals with Down syndrome who are breaking barriers, redefining expectations, and showing the world what’s possible. Our Self Advocate of the Year Award honors a self-advocate whose determination, leadership, and impact uplift the Down syndrome community across North Carolina. The award will be presented on February 28, 2026, at our statewide celebration. We invite you to submit a nomination for this year’s award. Please complete the form below to nominate an individual who: Resides in North Carolina, has not received this award previously, and demonstrates courage, advocacy, personal growth, leadership, or meaningful impact in their community. Your nomination helps us shine a light on self-advocates whose stories deserve to be seen and celebrated.
