• Schweinfurth Art Center Both Ends of the Rainbow 2026

    February 1 – March 14, 2026

     

    The Art Center is seeking artwork by seniors (aged 65 and older) who are residents of Cayuga County and/or members of the Schweinfurth for our annual Both Ends of the Rainbow exhibit Feb. 1 - Mar. 14, 2026. Participation is free for current members of the Schweinfurth or $5 per person for non-members that reside in Cayuga County.

    Participants must register by completing this form by January 9, 2026. Artwork drop-off will be Jan. 12-16.

     

    Entry Guidelines:

    · Only one artwork per participant.

    · All work must hang on the wall.

    · Must be a senior citizen (65 and up) and a resident of Cayuga County and/or a current member at time of registration. Non-members that are residents of Cayuga County have an entry fee of $5.     · Work must be an original work of art created by the artist. Art created from a kit is not eligible.

    · 2-D work framed or canvas work must be at least 10”H x 10”W and must not exceed 48”H x 48”W.

    · Textile work (that can be brought in on a roll or folded) must not exceed 48”H x 48”W

    ·  All two-dimensional work must be in excellent condition and exhibit ready, meaning framed and/or have a wire for hanging and must be able to hang flat against the wall.

    ·  Textiles must have a sleeve and hanging rod/slat or other appropriate hanging system – no hangers.

    ·  All work must be labeled on the back with artist’s name and artwork title.

    ·  All work must have been completed within the past three years.

    ·  Artwork that has been shown previously at the Art Center is not eligible.

    ·  The Schweinfurth Art Center reserves the right to decline work that does not meet the requirements or for any other reason, such as work that cannot be displayed safely.

    · All work must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit.

    · The art center will receive a 30% commission from sales occurring during the exhibit.

    · Participating artists automatically grant permission for photographs to be taken of work in the exhibit, which can be used to promote the exhibit.

     

    Important Dates

    Registration due: January 9, 2026

    Deliver work: Jan. 12-16, 10am to 5 pm

    Senior Reception: Thursday, February 12 from 2-4pm

    Pickup work:  Mar. 17-20, 10am to 5pm
