The Valley has been among the leaders in the Scottish Rite in trying new ideas and exploring new ways of making is more convenient for our members and prospective members to experience and participate in inspirational and enjoyable programs and events, as well as serving and working with the lodges in our area. Selection as an Officer withing the Valley is one of honor and privilege and not to be taken lightly. We thank you for your interest in serving as an Officer of the Valley of Danville and wish you all the best in your endeavors.
  • The Valley of Danville is composed of four distinct coordinate bodies, each with their own line of officers and duties and ritual to be exemplified. The top three Officers, Secretary, and Treasurer of each of the bodies are elected and the remaining Officers are appointed. The Secretary and Treasurer are traditionally common to all bodes within the Valley. All interested parties are subject to requirements of the Valley of Danville By-laws regarding elections. All appointed officers serve at the pleasure of their Presiding Officers and are evaluated and recommended by the Officer Selection and Advancement Committee.
  • The purpose of the Officer Selection and Advancement Committee is to seek out, evaluate, select and advance members who wish to serve as appointed officers in each of the four coordinate bodies of the Valley of Danville. Any member of the Valley in good standing may fill out an interest survey and be given due consideration. All selections by the committee are given final approval from the Scottish Rite Deputy of Illinois communicated through the Active or Deputy's Representative. Attendance at meetings, reunions and events; performance of assigned parts; service on committees; and demeanor is all taken into consideration.
