  • To open our 50th season, we return to our very first show from 1976! This bawdy commedia dell’arte romp is sure to make you laugh, blush, and gasp. Come join us for a comedy of errors and egos!

    Directed by Christina Cranshaw

Auditions will take place at Stage West Theatre on February 16 from 6:30pm-10pm and February 17 from 7pm-10pm and consist of cold reads from the script. Callbacks are by invitation only on February 18. We are pleased to honor our actors with increased stipends this season.

  • Character Descriptions

The Three Cuckolds is presented in the tradition of commedia dell’arte and all of the characters are stock characters of that style.

Arlecchino: A servant. Mischievous, clever, and playful. Full of energy.

Flaminia: Fiery and beautiful. She is married to Pantalone.

Franceschina: Witty and graceful. She is married to Zanni.

Cintia: Cunning and voluptuous. She is married to Coviello.

Pantalone: Wealthy, old, and married to Flaminia.

Zanni: Old, crafty, and married to Franceschina.

Coviello: Old, sly, and married to Cintia.

    Devil: acidic, snarky, and amused.

The age range is open. And although the men are described as “old”, the broad style of Commedia Dell’Arte can allow for a younger actor to play the elder role.
Due to the nature of the show, all performers must be 18 or older.
