  • The GetHIRED! internship is a great opportunity to gain hands-on technical experience in the delivery of an e-course, while also benefiting from the course content. GetHIRED! is an e-learning course for postdocs planning to enter the academic job market. The interim will support course delivery and aid course instructors.

    Eligibility

    • Senior graduate student (4th year and up) and postdoc members of the Society for Developmental Biology are eligible.

    Duties of the Intern

    • Support the technical side of course delivery (e.g. Zoom calls) during online sessions
    • Communicate with course participants
    • Assist with course updates ahead of the start of the course in April 2026
    • Support the instructors during the course
    • Once the course ends, assist with conducting evaluation, and with identifying and curating new content for the next iteration.
    • The internship will run for a total of 8 months (January - August 2026).

    The deadline for all application materials, including a letter of recommendation from your advisor, is Monday, December 15, 2025, at 11:59 pm Eastern Time. Recommendation letter writers should send their letters to SDB at sdb@sdbonline.org.

  • Advisor Recommendation Letter Information

    A recommendation letter of up to 700 words from your advisor (PI) should be submitted to SDB at sdb@sdbonline.org by the December 15 deadline. The letter should include an acknowledgement of support for your participation in this internship if you are selected.
