• Virginia FFA State Convention Volunteer Opportunities

  • Thank you for volunteering your time to the members and advisors of Virginia FFA during our state convention. Convention is at Virginia Tech from June 8th-11th. We have some needs for assistance on Sunday, June 7th.

    The first page will collect your information. The second page are known volunteer needs with times and dates available for you to volunteer.  Simply pick the date and time you are available and submit the form. More information will be given about your selected task.

    Below you will find two types of volunteer opportunities. The first are "positions" with a commitment for the duration of convention. The second are task and date specific based on your interests and availability. Choose what works best for you.
    • Positions  

    • These volunteer positions would be more flexible and require a dedicated person throughout convention. See the job descriptions for more information.

      Volunteer Coordinator - communicate with volunteers ahead of convention, explain the task, answer questions, manage the schedule, serve as a point person during convention. If you are not already planning to be at convention for the week, this could be done remotely.

      Awards Photographer - each session we need to photograph the winners in front of the Virginia FFA photo backdrop and record the name of the team and award to use in our quarterly FFA magazine.

    • Contests 

    • Tell us your availability using the calendar below. Then you can tell us your specific interests. We will work to match you with the area you are most comfortable with. 

    • Contests - Let us know your availability and we will put you in touch with the contest coordinator who has needs. This may be serving as a judge, reading to students, set up, clean-up, etc. 4 Hour Shifts
    • Monday's Competitions - select any you would be interested in helping with.
    • Tuesday's Competitions - select any you would be interested in helping with.
    • Wednesday's Competitions - select any you would be interested in helping with.
    • Date Specific Tasks 
    • Registration - Greet advisors and hand out registration packets. Looking for at least three volunteers per shift. Registration opens at 10:00AM and closes at 2:00PM on Monday. 2 Hour Shifts.
    • Alumni Store - Sunday is for set up. Wednesday's slot is for clean-up. All other shifts are for running the store. Looking for 5 volunteers per shift. 2 Hour Shifts.
    • Water Coolers - Daily we need water coolers filled with water and ice. We need someone with a truck that can haul the coolers and ice the water. Looking for a max of 3 volunteers daily.
    • Burrus - Sunday: decorating and setting the stage, Thursday: clean-up
