Terms & Conditions – Your Pets and Me
1. Cancellations & Amendments
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for all 1-2-1 training sessions. Sessions cancelled or amended with less than 48 hours’ notice may be forfeited.
If cancelling a package part-way through, sessions already used will be charged at £55 per session, plus a £15 administration fee. Any remaining balance will be adjusted accordingly.
Classes or workshops are non-refundable if less than 48 hours’ notice is given before the first session or once the course has started.
2. Payments & Booking Confirmation
Payment terms vary by service.
1-2-1 training and packages must be paid in full upfront.
Pet sitting bookings require a non-refundable deposit to secure the dates, with the remaining balance due prior to the booking start date.
Bookings will be held for 48 hours pending payment. If payment is not received within this timeframe, the booking may be released to other clients.
3. Session Package Validity
Training sessions purchased as part of a single session, block, or package must be booked and used within the stated validity period from the date of purchase. Single sessions and 3-session packages are valid for 3 months, and larger packages are valid for 6 months. Any sessions not used within this timeframe will expire and cannot be carried over, refunded, or exchanged. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure sessions are booked within the validity period.
4. Right to Terminate
Your Pets and Me reserves the right to cancel the contract at any time, with immediate effect, if any dog under the contract is deemed not to be responding well to the training plan, or where continuing is considered a risk to people, animals, or the dog itself.
5. Dog Handling & Safety
All dogs must remain on lead during training unless prior agreement has been given by Your Pets and Me.
Dogs known to bite or cause injury to other dogs or people must wear a muzzle when requested. Failure to do so may result in immediate termination of support. Your Pets and Me accepts no responsibility for incidents where appropriate control or equipment is not used.
Dogs must be kept under control when I am entering your premises. Any injury caused due to a failure to do so will be the owner’s full responsibility.
6. Weather & Welfare
Sessions may be shortened or stopped due to extreme weather conditions, including but not limited to excessive heat, torrential rain, thunderstorms, snow, or ice. Decisions regarding rescheduling or conducting sessions online are at the discretion of Your Pets and Me.
Sessions may also be adapted or stopped if a dog is not coping well. In some cases, sessions may be conducted online or owner-only, particularly for anxious dogs.
7. Training Outcomes
While a 100% success rate cannot be guaranteed, success depends heavily on the client’s consistency and commitment to following the training plan. Failure to follow the agreed plan may result in termination of the contract without refund.
All training methods used are kind, ethical, and force-free. Progress is not instant and requires long-term commitment.
8. Equipment & Insurance
Your Pets and Me is insured with Cliverton. Insurance cover may be invalidated if appropriate equipment is not used or advice is not followed during training sessions.
If aversive methods or equipment are currently in use, these must be changed before training can commence.
9. Stooge Dogs
In some cases, stooge dogs may be used to aid training. Clients are responsible for maintaining a safe distance and using a muzzle if requested during these sessions.
10. Communication & Ongoing Support
Clients agree to check in regularly regarding their dog’s progress via email, text, or other agreed communication methods. Failure to engage may result in termination of support.
Clients must inform Your Pets and Me if they are working with another trainer. If training methods conflict, Your Pets and Me reserves the right to terminate the contract, with a partial refund for unused sessions where appropriate.
11. Veterinary Consent
In cases involving behavioural concerns, clients give consent for Your Pets and Me to contact their veterinarian if deemed necessary.
12. Media & Testimonials
Unless otherwise stated, clients consent to Your Pets and Me sharing training success stories and images on social media. If you do not consent, this must be stated on the registration form.
Clients may be asked to provide a testimonial.
13. Zoom & Online Sessions
Where applicable, Zoom details will be emailed the day before the session. In the event of restrictions, sessions may be delivered online. Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.
14. Illness & Isolation
If you or someone in your household is required to self-isolate, the 48-hour cancellation policy will be waived for 1-2-1 sessions and rescheduled at the earliest opportunity. This does not apply to classes.
15. General Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for clearing up and appropriately disposing of dog waste during sessions.
