Program: Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)
Positions Available: Administrative Assistant (Executive Assistant), Front Desk Attendant, Maintenance & Custodial, Child Watch Attendant
Pay Rate: $9.00 – $12.00 per hour (determined by SCSEP agency through eligibility and placement)
Hours: Part-time or Full-Time (up to 40 hours per week)
Eligibility: Applicants must be 55 years or older and income-qualified under SCSEP program guidelines.
Background Check: Required prior to placement.

Program Overview
The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides part-time community service training opportunities for adults aged 55 and older who meet income eligibility guidelines. Participants gain valuable on-the-job experience and training to help build their skills, confidence, and pathways to long-term employment.
The Love Community Center is proud to serve as a host site for the SCSEP program in partnership with the Rush to Work Job Center. This initiative not only supports older adults seeking meaningful work but also strengthens our mission to empower and connect people across generations in Rush County.
1. Administrative Assistant / Executive Assistant
Responsibilities:
Support the Executive Director and the administrative team with scheduling, communications, and document preparation.
Answer phones, manage correspondence, and maintain organized records.
Assist with meeting coordination, file management, and basic data entry.
Provide excellent customer service to community members and partners.
Preferred Skills:
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Email).
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
2. Bookkeeping / AP & AR Assistant
Responsibilities:
Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks under supervision
Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
Organize, file, and maintain financial documents
Enter data into financial systems or spreadsheets
Assist with invoice tracking, receipts, and routine reconciliations
Maintain confidentiality of all financial information
Preferred Skills:
Basic understanding of bookkeeping or office finance
Knowledge of spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets)
Attention to detail and accuracy
Willingness to learn financial systems
2. Front Desk Attendant (Love Community Center)
Responsibilities:
Greet visitors and assist with inquiries in a friendly, professional manner.
Manage sign-ins, direct guests, and support facility use coordination.
Provide information about LCC programs and services.
Maintain a welcoming, organized front lobby.
Preferred Skills:
Positive, customer-service-oriented attitude.
Comfort using a computer or phone system.
Reliable and punctual.
3. Maintenance & Custodial
Responsibilities:
Support daily facility cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep.
Set up and break down rooms for programs and community events.
Perform light repairs, replace light bulbs, clean windows, and maintain supplies.
Monitor and report maintenance issues to the supervisor.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with general cleaning or maintenance work.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and follow safety procedures.
Dependable and detail-oriented.
4. Child Watch Attendant
Responsibilities:
Supervise children in the designated Child Watch area while parents participate in programs or fitness activities.
Engage children in age-appropriate, safe activities.
Ensure a clean, secure, and welcoming environment.
Follow LCC’s youth safety and emergency procedures.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings.
Patience, attentiveness, and strong interpersonal skills.
Must complete background and child safety checks.

5. Library Clerk
Responsibilities:
Check- and check-out patrons, register new patrons.
Copying, faxing, printing, and basic computer troubleshooting.
Preferred Skills:
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Intermediate computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Email, database).
Clerical skills ( cash register, cash handling, ledger)
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
