We are seeking presenters for the Growing Minds Conference hosted by Minnesota and Wisconsin Agriculture in the Classroom Organizations on July 27- 28, 2026. Presenters will share information, lead experiences, and connect with attendees during 50-minute breakout sessions or 20-minute mini-sessions. The sessions and mini-sessions will occur on July 28 from 9:00 a.m. – 3 p.m. This conference will be held at St. Paul College (235 Marshall Ave, St. Paul, MN 55102). K-12 teachers, administrators, informal educators and anyone interested in using agriculture as a context for learning are encouraged to attend!
The Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation will provide one complimentary conference registration per breakout session.
Ideas for workshop proposal themes include:
- Exploring life science using agricultural plants, animals, and insects.
- Investigating earth and environmental science through natural resource conservation (soil health, water quality, etc.) on farms and agricultural sites.
- Developing reading, writing, speaking, and listening (Language Arts) skills with agriculture-themed books, videos, field trips, and agriculture themed events.
- Digging into student growing experiences (school gardens, hydroponics, aquaponics, etc.) with cross-curricular applications (science, social studies, STEM, language arts, health/nutrition).
- Exploring culture, history, and geography using food and agriculture.
- Using agriculture to support Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
