    • Large breed dogs: at least 1.5 years old

    HEALTH CONDITION

    • Pets must be healthy, not underweight, dehydrated, or malnourished
    • No visible illness, injury, or ongoing treatment
    • Pets that received treatment or medication within the 2 weeks before surgery must acquire and present clearance from their attending vet confirming that pet is fit for surgery
    • Female dogs in heat are discouraged to undergo surgery due to higher risk of bleeding and complications. It is recommended to wait 6-8 weeks after heat cycle ends before booking for surgery.
    • Dogs and cats that just gave birth are recommended to wait for a month before booking for surgery.

    VACCINATION

    • Vaccination is not required but completion of initial vaccines is highly recommended before surgery
    • Rabies vaccination is available and offered together with kapon (Php 300)

    BREED-RELATED RISKS

    • We do not discriminate against any breed—all are welcome
    • However, severely flat-faced (brachycephalic) pets may be declined for safety reasons, as they are at higher risk of breathing difficulties under sedation
    • Our clinic is not yet fully equipped for these breeds at this time
    • Unsure if your pet is too flat-faced? Message us on our FB Page before registering

    FASTING INSTRUCTIONS

    • Cats and Dogs: No food and water 6-8 hours before surgery
    • Overfasted (>12 hours) and underfasted (<4 hours) pets may be declined

    CAGES, CARRIERS, LEASHES

    • Cats and small dogs: must be in a cage/carrier
    • Medium to large dogs: must be caged or leashed
    • One (1) pet per cage policy for patient safety
    • Make sure cages, carriers, and leashes are secure (the clinic will not be liable for escape incidents)
    • Within clinic premises, please do not open cages/carriers without staff assistance for a smoother process

    BLOOD TESTS

    • CBC (Php 800): Recommended for all (owners who wish to decline may sign a waiver acknowledging the risks), required for female dogs
    • Blood Chemistry (Php 1,500): Recommended for pets 4+ years old or with health issues
    • Heartworm test (Php 800) and NT-proBNP (Php 2,000): Recommended for senior pets (7+ years) or pets with heart concerns

    • Tests can be done with us or at another vet clinic 1-7 days before surgery
    • If done outside:

      — Tests must be done within 1-7 days before surgery to be valid
    • If done with us:
      — Please bring pet to the clinic 1-7 days before surgery for blood sampling
      — Samples are sent to a partner lab and results may take up to 12-24 hours to release

    PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT

    • All registered pets, with or without blood tests, will be physically examined to assess overall health and fitness for surgery.
    • If pet is found unfit, surgery may be declined and pet will be referred for further testing and treatment.
