Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

Once you get home immediately remove the plastic wrap and wash your tattoo with a fragrance free antibacterial soap. Always wash your hands before washing your tattoo. Only use your bare hands to wash your tattoo. Wash it, rinse it, pat it dry. Let it air out until it's completely dry (1-2 minutes) then apply a thin layer of ointment. I recommend bacitracin. However, you may also use H2Ocean Aquatat, Aquaphor or A&D. Take an anti-inflammatory (ibuprofen) according to the package instructions to reduce swelling as long as you're able to (check with your regular physician if you are not sure about ibuprofen or at the first sign ofabnormal swelling).

Be sure to keep your tattoo clean with a thin layer of ointment on it throughout the entire day. If it gets dirty for any reason, rewash and reapply the ointment

Wash the ointment off completely with a fragrance free antibacterial soap. Always wash your hands before washing your tattoo. Wash it, rinse it, pat it dry and let it air out completely (1-2 minutes). Wrap it in plastic just like I did, making sure it's completely suffocated and sleep with it that way. When you wake up carefully remove the plastic, re-wash and reapply ointment.

Continue these routines for the first 3-7 nights. Once your tattoo peels and flakes you can switch to a fragrance free lotion. Be sure to keep your new tattoo out of the sun for at least 3 months. Afterwards, apply the strongest sunscreen (SPF 50+) to keep your tattoo looking awesome for years to come
