    Please complete this form to apply for our scholarships. Provide accurate and complete information to ensure your application is considered. Candidates must be an African  American, be a full-time undergraduate student in good standing or who is currently enrolled at an accredited college or university and demonstrate financial need. You must have a primary residence in Philadelphia or its surrounding counties (Philadelphia, Bucks,  Montgomery, Chester, and Delaware).  Candidate must possess an overall and current semester grade point average of 3.0 or higher and demonstrate good character and active engagement in community service.  Please see criteria detail below for scholarship opportunities.
  • The Naomi Berry- Shirley Parham Founders Scholarship Fund

    The Naomi Berry/Shirley Parham Scholarship Fund The Branch has named its signature Scholarship Fund to honor our Branch Founders—Naomi Berry and Shirley  Parham. The fund was initially established with a monetary and charitable gift from Mr. James Johnson in 2007,  under the organizational leadership of branch member, Dr. Irby Davis. Today, the branch members support the  scholarship fund through donations and fund-raising activities. Criteria: These awards are given to qualified candidates who demonstrate academic promise, community service, and financial need. Candidates must be an African  American, full time undergraduate pursing a degree in African American History, Social Justice, and or Education, student must be a 2nd semester freshmen and beyond attending an accredited college or university with a minimum 3.0 G.P.A whose primary residence is in Philadelphia or in one of the five counties surrounding Philadelphia (Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Delaware).
  • The Lincoln Investment Cares Scholarship Fund

    The Branch has earmarked funds to honor Lincoln Investment after receiving a substantial  donation towards the advancement of our branch’s efforts and commitment to youth scholarships.  Lincoln Investment has a long history of charitable contribution and service to the community. Founder, Nick Forst, was extremely generous and Lincoln employees are committed to continuing his history of giving. Lincoln Cares is Lincoln’s service initiative, led by a group of employees, with a mission to carry on the founder’s tradition to help people and enhance the quality of their lives. These awards are given to qualified candidates who  demonstrate academic promise, community service, and financial need. Candidates must be an African  American, full time undergraduate any major 2nd semester freshmen and beyond attending an accredited college or  university with a minimum 3.0 G.P.A whose primary residence is in Philadelphia or in one of the five counties  surrounding Philadelphia (Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Delaware).  
  • The Presidential Leadership Book Stipend Fund

    The Presidential Leadership Book Stipend Fund was established in 2021 by PhilaMontco Branch member Mrs. Carole Williams-Green. It is designed to provide (2) or more rising scholars entering into a post secondary college, technical or trade, training program. The purpose of the stipend is to purchase books or supplies needed for their studies. Its funding is raised by the immediate past president Dana Y. King Esq. of the PhilaMontco Branch.  Qualified candidates must demonstrate academic promise, community service, and financial need. Candidates must be an African American high school graduate of a Philadelphia or a surrounding county public, charter or parochial school; attending any post-secondary educational program (part-time or full-time)  and show commitment to completing their post-secondary goals.

  • Personal Interview Requirement

    As part of the ASLAH PMB Scholarship selection process, all candidates are required to participate in a formal interview. The purpose of this interview is to give the review committee an opportunity to learn more about each applicant’s academic goals, character, community involvement, and overall fit for the scholarship. During the interview, candidates should be prepared to discuss their educational background, personal achievements, challenges they have overcome, and how receiving this scholarship will support their long-term plans. * There is no interview required for the Presidential Book Stipend.
