Award criteria and eligibility
All individuals submitted must be ICE members (any grade) located within the ICE North East.
The Fairness, Inclusion and Respect (FIR) Champion Award is presented to a member who has made a significant contribution to fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion within the field of civil engineering and the built environment.
This award is for an ICE member who demonstrates an unwavering decication in promoting the significance of diversity and inclusion and combatting discrimination. Their dedicated commitment makes them an exemplary figure within the industry. They advocate for, celebrate and foster awareness of Fairness, Inclusion and Respect.
Criteria to consider for this award include:
- a role model, inspiring others by embodying fairness, inclusion and respect for everyone
- has facilitated or actively participated in events, activities and initiatives that have promoted a wider understanding of different cultures and/or underrepresented groups within their organisation/industry
- has an unwavering dedication to equal opportunities
- has a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment, they have actively championed and contributed to positive transformations in organisational culture
