SUBMITTING A VIDEO RECORDING FOR AUDITION
As part of the pre-screening process, you are required to submit a video recording of your playing, totalling 5–10 minutes combined
Please read these instructions carefully to ensure your submission meets all requirements.
SUBMISSIONS CLOSE MIDNIGHT, 30 APRIL 2026
Flute / Piccolo
- Flute: Two or more contrasting concert works, etudes, or standard orchestral/band excerpts.
- Piccolo: Either one concert work/etude or two contrasting orchestral/band excerpts.
- Recordings may have Piano Accompaniment if desired.
Percussion - Three works (recorded separately):
- One piece on any tuned percussion instrument
- One piece on snare drum
- One piece on drum kit (with or without pre-recorded backing or live accompaniment)
Applicants are encouraged to select music that demonstrates their strengths and breadth of musicianship.
Instructions for sending audition recordings as electronic files:
Recordings will only be accepted if they meet the following conditions:
- The files should be in MP4 (preferred) or MOV format.
- MAXIMUM FILE SIZE IS 1GB PER FILE
- Please ensure that each round of excerpts is clearly titled as
- SURNAME-GIVEN-INSTRUMENT-SAPOL2026
Upload all the recording files through the files upload feature on this form only
Please note that we WILL NOT accept any video files sent as email attachments.
Recording Conditions
- All submissions must be video recordings.
- Use studio-quality audio equipment where possible; external microphones are recommended as mobile phone micropones may distort.
- Please check playback quality before submission.
- Confirm that your recording is unedited and represents your true performance.
Flute / Piccolo Applicants:
- Record each instrument selected works in one continuous take.
- You may replay an excerpt within the same take if dissatisfied, but the original attempt must remain.
- You may submit separate video files for FLUTE and PICCOLO
Percussion Applicants:
- Record each instrument selected works in one continuous take.
- You may replay a work if dissatisfied, but the original attempt must remain.
- Drum kit recordings may be from a performance within the last 6 months.
- You may submit separate video files for TUNED, SNARE and DRUM KIT
Additional Materials Required
Along with your video recording, please provide as a PDF:
- Cover Letter: List your chosen works/excerpts in the order performed.

- Sheet Music: PDF copies of all music performed.
- File Name - SURNAME-GIVEN-SCORES.PDF
