  • Thanks to a grant from the Margo T. Petrie Spaying and Neutering Foundation, Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic, in partnership with Spay Neuter Initiative Program, is proud to offer a voucher program for pets who have been adopted from either Robeson County Animal Protective Services in St Pauls or Lee County Animal Shelter in Sanford.

    For just a $50 copay for dogs and a $25 copay for cats, you pet can be spayed/neutered.

    Your voucher provides your pet:

    Spay / Neuter Surgery

    E-collar (cone) for all dogs and for female cats 

    Oral pain medication for dogs and an injection of pain medication for cats

    Additional expenses are not covered, including but not limited to: rabies vaccines (required by law), microchipping, brachycephalic fees, hernia repairs, antibiotics or additional wellness services requested. 

  • Here is a breakdown of what the grant is covering
  • Before completing this form, please understand the following:

    • Puppies/kittens must be 12 weeks old and weight at least 2 lbs on the date of surgery
    • Female dogs & cats who have previously given birth must be at least 12 weeks post-partum in order to be spayed.
    • This program is only for dogs and cats adopted from either Robeson County Animal Protective Services or Lee County Animal Shelter. Owners do not need to live in those counties, however, the pets must have been adopted from one of those two shelters.
    • The grant covers the cost of surgery, post-op pain medications and an e-collar for all female pets and male dogs
    • This grant does NOT cover the cost of a rabies vaccine. All pets must have an up to date rabies vaccine. If your pet is not up to date on their rabies, we can provide this vaccine at the time of surgery for $15
    • We are required to submit monthly reports to show the animals that this grant has helped. You may be asked for photographs with your pet or for a video interview. Please understand this is a requirement and may cause your intake or discharge process to be longer than normal.

  • We currently have a grant from PetCo Love that covers the cost of the distemper/Parvo vaccine for dogs (DHPP) and cats (FVRCP) who are privately owned.  While the grant is in effect, if you select the DHPP or FVRCP above there will be no charge for the vaccine. 

    We do not have a set expiration date for the grant, so while it is likely that the grant will still be going on, it is possible that the grant will no longer be in effect depending on how far out the surgical appointment is scheduled. In that case we would send a payment request for the vaccine and you could chose if you want to receive it or not.

  • For appointments in the month of September we are offering a promotion for heartworm prevention! Heartworm disease is very common in North Carolina in dogs not on heartworm prevention.  We are hoping to bring attention to how serious heartworm disease is and how easily it is prevented.

    We are offering a FREE heartworm test ($30 value) for your dog with the purchase of a years-worth of heartworm prevention.  You can purchase a years worth of oral Iverheart Max or two ProHeart 6 injections to qualify for the free heartworm test.

  • We offer three types of flea and parasite prevention for your cat:

    1. Parasedge Multi - Topical medication that prevents heartworms, and treats fleas for 1 month. Parasedge also treats ear mites and intestinal parasites, such as hookworms and roundworms.
    2. Bravecto – Topical medication that prevents fleas and ticks for 3 months with a single dose. Cats should be at least 6 months old to start Bravecto.
    3. Nexgard Combo- Topical medications that prevents heartworms, fleas and ticks for 1 month. It also provides deworming against hookworms, roundworms and tapeworms. 
  • Available Options for Heartworm Medication:

    1. Iverhart Max - Oral monthly chew that prevents heartworms and intestinal parasites, including tapeworms.
    2. Parasedge Multi - Topical that prevents heartworms, and treats fleas for 1 month. Parasedge also treats sarcoptic mange and intestinal parasites, such as whipworms, hookworms and roundworms.
    3. ProHeart – Injectable heartworm prevention that prevents heartworms and most intestinal parasites for 6 months with just one injection.  Dogs must be over 6 months old to receive the ProHeart injection.
    4. Nexgard Plus- Oral monthly chew that prevents heartworms, treats roundworms & hookworms , prevents/kills fleas AND ticks.

  • SNVC Refund Policy:

    This grant is a co-pay program meaning that you (pet owner) pays $50 for your pets spay/neuter surgery, a rabies vaccine and a microchip and the grant from Doris Day Animal Foundation covers the rest of the expenses. You may select additional services (ie additional vaccines, deworming, flea or heartworm prevention, etc) from the list above. You are responsible for those costs. If you qualify and are selected for this program, we will email you a $50 payment request. You have 72 hours to pay the $50 co-pay, otherwise your appointment will be cancelled. You may cancel or reschedule your appointment for a refund minus a $5 processing fee BUT you must proide at least 7 days advanced notice. If you cancel with less than 7 days notice, then the co-pay is non-refundable. If you want to reschedule with less than 7 days notice, you will be required to pay the $50 co-pay again. If you are a no-show on the day of your pet's appointment, you will not be able to reschedule and you will no longer be eligible for discounted or free surgeries from SNVC (ie SNIP, Fix the Future, Namaste clinics, etc).

    I, acting as owner or agent of the pet named above, hereby request and authorize SNVC to perform an operation for sexual sterilization of the animal named above.

    • I understand that any anesthetic/surgical procedure, including surgical sexual sterilization, presents a degree of risk to the patient and, though minimal, may result in injury or death.
    • I certify that my animal is in good health and not on any medications other than those disclosed.
    • I understand the inherent risks of failing to maintain current vaccinations and waive all claims arising out of or connected with the performance of this operation or due to such failure.
    • I understand that some factors significantly increase surgical risk, including but not limited to; pregnancy, being in heat, recently post-partum, obese, brachycephalic or over 7 years in age, having a heart murmur and diseases such as Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), Feline Leukemia, and heartworm disease.
    • I understand that blood work and/or veterinary diagnostic prior to surgery is recommended for all high risk pets.
    • I understand that if my pet has a pre-existing medical condition, clinical or subclinical, this condition may be worsened by anesthesia and/or surgical sterilization.
    • I understand that if my animal is pregnant, the pregnancy will be terminated at surgery.
    • I understand that SNVC has the right to refuse service to any animal determined to be ill or at increased risk. Sick animals are at higher risk for anesthetic and surgical complications, as well as pose a risk to other animals in the clinic.
    • I understand that SNVC may not perform a complete physical examination before surgery is performed. I also understand that my animal will not receive pre-operative blood work unless requested and waive my right to have this service performed prior to surgery.
    • I understand that if there are complications my pet may need to receive post-operative monitoring or care at an emergency clinic and I accept the financial responsibility for that care if deemed necessary by the veterinarian.
    • I understand that my animal should have no food after 12:00 midnight the evening prior to surgery (excluding pets less than 4 months old).
    • I understand that if my animal has an open umbilical hernia, it may be repaired at time of surgery for an additional fee.
    • I understand that if my male animal is a cryptorchid there will be an additional fee for surgery.
    • I understand that photographs may be taken during the day, and my pet may be present in those photos. I understand that the photographs taken at SNVC may be used for promotions and advertisements for SNVC. This includes but is not limited to Facebook, Twitter, SNVC website, advertisements, etc.
    • I understand that if I do not retrieve my pet at the agreed upon time, SNVC may exercise their right to turn the animal over to the nearest animal control center, humane society, or dispose of as deemed just and proper as allowed by the State of North Carolina under G.S. 90-187.7(a). Owners of pets left after closing at 5pm will be charged a 25.00 per half hour late fee. Owners dropping Pets off past the intake time of 8:00am will be charged a 25.00 late drop off fee and may be turned away for surgery and asked to reschedule.
    • I understand that payment in full is required prior to services being rendered.
    • I agree to allow SNVC to run any Credit Card(s) on file to cover any remaining balance due. Payments may be processed after the day of surgery.
    • I understand that under no circumstances will the Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic pay for services received at another veterinary clinic, whether the services are related to a surgery done at the Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic or not.
    • I understand that there will be a small permanent green line tattoo next to the incision indicating sterilization.
    • I understand that my animal may receive a nail trim and occasionally nails are quicked in the process.
    • I understand that my animal's fur will be shaved to ensure sterility during the surgical procedure.
    • I understand that if the Clinic has any questions regarding your pet or there is reason for concern or increased risk with surgery noticed prior or during surgery, the clinic will attempt to reach the owner at the numbers left at check in. IF THE OWNER IS NOT REACHABLE BY 10AM DAY OF SURGERY I UNDERSTAND THAT SURGERY MAY NOT BE DONE ON MY ANIMAL and you may need to reschedule your appointment
    • I hereby release the Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic of the Sandhills, all veterinarians, assistants, volunteers, directors, and employees from any and all claims arising out of or connected with the performance of this procedure or any adverse reactions from vaccinations. I agree that I have not and will not claim any right of compensation from any of the above, or file action by reason of such sterilization or attempted sterilization of such animal or any consequences related thereto. Owner/agent hereby agrees to hold SNVC unaccountable for any damages caused during the transportation of the animal, or for any damages caused by any unforeseeable events including fire, vandalism, burglary, extreme weather, natural disasters or acts of God.
