  • Welcome to the New Futures Artist application for The Other Art Fair Chicago taking place this Spring, April 9th-12th, at Artifact Events. 

    Application Deadline: January 10th, 2026


    Please consider the following before beginning your application:

    • Only applications meeting the criteria for New Futures will be considered. See Below. 
    • Each eligible application is carefully considered by a selection committee, who review each application, the submitted artworks and booth proposal.
    • You cannot stop and save your application so we suggest starting the application when you can complete it in full.
    • Optional Video Element - there is an optional video element to this application if you would prefer to talk about your work rather than submit a written response. So make sure you have your video and artworks ready before starting this application.

  • Eligibility

    The New Futures program is part of our continued mission to break down traditional barriers of the contemporary art world. The recipient is given a free exhibition space at The Other Art Fair along with access to opportunities designed to jump-start their career.

    The program is designed for artists in the very early stages of their professional career. Please ensure that you meet all eligibility criteria listed below before continuing with the application.

    All the information provided in your application will remain private and will only be used by the Fair team and Selection Committee for the New Futures selection process.

  • Why are you applying to New Futures and what do you hope to gain from the experience?

    Create a video (2 minutes or less) introducing yourself and explaining why you are applying - get creative and show us your personality! Please upload your video response to Youtube or Vimeo and share the link to watch or upload the .mp4 file in the relevant fields below. If you would prefer NOT to submit a video response, you may instead submit a response of 400 words or less in the the text field.
