Through the generosity of John P. Gismondi and The Gismondi Foundation, the Allegheny County Bar Foundation is pleased to offer up to 10 annual scholarships for ACBA young lawyers (10 years or less of experience) with financial need to attend the annual Bench-Bar Conference at no cost.
Each scholarship will cover the full cost of:
- Conference registration
- Room and board for the duration of the Conference.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be an active member of the ACBA in good standing
- Have been in practice for 10 years or less as of the application deadline
- Demonstrate an interest in participating in the Bench-Bar Conference
- Not have previuosly received a Bench-Bar Conference scholarship (preference will be given to first-time attendees)
- Demonstrate financial need
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit the following:
1. Completed Application Form (see below)
2. Personal Statement (no more than 500 words) addressing:
- Financial need
- Why you wish to attend the Bench-Bar Conference
- How experience will enhance your professional development
3. Current Resume or CV
Selection Criteria
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on:
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and bar association involvement
- Preference for first-time Bench-Bar attendees.
- Financial need

All applications must be received by February 27, 2026. Recipients will be notified by
March 15, 2026.
