  • Math Science Nucleus: Summer Camp Volunteer 2026

    High School Volunteer Opportunities 2026
  • Join Math Science Nucleus - a non-profit organization serving education since 1982 - as a Summer Camp Volunteer for our Summer 2026 Camps at Tule Ponds and the Children's Natural History Museum!

Support young learners as they explore the world of environmental science through hands-on activities, experiments, and outdoor exploration - all while you build real-world skills in leadership, teaching, and teamwork. As a volunteer, you will guide activities, mentor students, and foster a deeper sense of appreciation for science education.

This opportunity is open to high school students who are curious about the natural world and interested in learning more about local environments, leadership, and education. We require students to have taken at least one high school science class. You don’t need to have previous experience, just a willingness to learn, be patient, and try something new.

There will be a total of sixteen sessions of summer camps covering various scientific topics throughout June and July. Eight sessions will be held at Tule Ponds, and eight sessions will be held at the Children's Natural History Museum.

Each session is 5 days long, and Summer Camp Volunteers will be expected to be on-site from either 8:30AM - 12:30PM (Tule Ponds) or 9:00AM - 1:00PM (Children's Natural History Museum) - four hours total per day. You will be able to attend a maximum of TWO sessions per facility (four total).

*Hours acquired during sessions qualify for community service hours needed for graduation requirements.
