The Golden Paw Award is a monthly recognition program created to celebrate the everyday actions that make our HES shelter volunteers truly outstanding. It highlights the small moments, consistent efforts, and quiet acts of kindness that make a big difference for our animals, staff, and fellow volunteers. These volunteer actions play a vital role in our mission, and this award provides an opportunity for peers to acknowledge and appreciate one another’s dedication, hard work, and positive impact on our animals and community.
How it works:
- Each month, staff and volunteers can nominate fellow volunteers that they see go above and beyond in their service. It could be a small, thoughtful act that often goes unnoticed, or someone who consistently shows up and goes the extra mile.
- Nominations are submitted via a short online survey form or on paper forms that will be in the HES volunteer room.
- Winners will be chosen based on impact, enthusiasm, and embodiment of our volunteer values.
- Nominations must be submitted by the 15th day of each month to be considered for next month’s award.
- Selected winners will be featured in the monthly HES newsletter and receive a special Golden Paw lanyard pin as a token of appreciation.
