STORY TELLING FORM
Your story is healing. Your story has purpose. Your story is yours, and it matters.
At The Community Rebirth Foundation, we believe that sharing your journey is an act of reclaiming your story. For many of us, cancer blurs the timeline. We dissociate. We go into survival mode. But storytelling brings us back ... back to our bodies, our emotions, our memories, and our truth. Let these prompts guide you gently. There are no right or wrong answers. Just honesty, breath, and whatever rises to the surface.
Why We Tell Our Stories: A Legacy Rooted in the African Diaspora
For the African diaspora and BIPOC communities, storytelling is ancestral; our way of surviving, remembering, and passing down truth. At The Community Rebirth Foundation, we honor that legacy. Your story continues a lineage that refuses to be silenced.By sharing your cancer journey, you reclaim your voice, you heal, and you help someone else feel less alone.
Please pause and breathe.
Telling your story can bring up memories, emotions, and moments you had to survive through, and that can be triggering.Take your time. There is no rush.Pause whenever you need to.Step away if it becomes too heavy.Come back when your spirit is ready.Your story deserves to be told with care, and you deserve to feel safe while telling it.
