  • 2026 Memorial Day Parade Application

  • The 2026 City of Fairfield Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 25th. The parade will feature veterans groups, military units, the Fairfield High School Marching Band, community groups and organizations, the Fairfield Police Department, and Fairfield Fire and Paramedic units.

    The parade concludes with a brief ceremony to pay tribute to our veterans, both past and present, at Veterans Memorial Park. Guest speakers include representatives from local veterans groups and City of Fairfield Mayor.

    PARADE INFORMATION:

     
    Start Time: The parade will start promptly at 10 a.m. Parade line up is from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. The parade will step off at 10 a.m. SHARP!

    Line up Entrances: The Lineup Entrance for participants is located at Express Scripts, 4865 Dixie Highway

    Parade Route: The parade route is approximately 1.4 miles long and mostly flat. The route begins at Express Scripts and proceeds down Hicks Blvd, take a right on Nilles Road, left on Bibury Rd., right on Wessel Dr. and ends at  Veterans Memorial Park (701 Wessel Dr.)

    Ceremony: At the conclusion of the parade, we encourage units to attend the Veteran’s Memorial for our special ceremony (at approximately 11 a.m.).

    Parade Parameters: Political campaigning of any kind is prohibited. Only seated elected officials are eligible to participate. For safety reasons, throwing candy is prohibited. The Fairfield Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right to reject all registrations deemed inappropriate for the parade. Parade line up is from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. The parade will step off at 10 a.m.

  • SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

    1. No objects including candy, flyers, or favors, may be THROWN out along the entire parade route or in the staging area. 
    2. There will be no fueling of generators during the parade. Fuel cans (gasoline, fuel oil, etc.) are not allowed to be stored on the entry.  They can be stored in the vehicle.
    3. There will be NO live fires or open flames on any floats.  
    4. There are to be no vision obstructions to tow vehicles. An observer other than the driver is required
      with all towed entries. The observer can walk or ride with the entry.
    5. Alcohol beverages are not allowed in the staging area, during the parade, or upon dismissal.
    6. No smoking near or on entries.
    7. Any violation of the rules or safety requirements could result in not being able to participate in the parade.
